For those who would like to have more than 20 souls in the inventory you can always store some mobs in your inventory, kill some of them when you are low on souls and collect more mobs to get souls from later. I have not tried this but since you get souls from butterflies this shouldn't be a problem, only need to craft Bug Net. Or use any other "inventory mob". I dont think I got souls from the clockworks(not strange at all).
