I would like to take a moment to share a my casual veteranness. 

I have killed Deerclops out of annoyance, seen frogs and beefalo obliterate Moosegoose, and watched poor Bearger die numerous times. That's uh... that's it, as far as bosses go. And that is my beautiful set piece base. I did not know at the time that shadow bosses were a thing. It just looked cool. I'm so organized. Look I put clothes/tools on the left and stackable stuff on the right!

Your base looks like a cluttered mess, I mean that big menu dead center of everything that says not paused has to take up what like 75% of your base?

There is a better way to plant forgetmelots. You just break a giant rotten crop and it will release 2 fruit flies that will plant weeds.

I had only that screenshot available at the moment and decided why not because the absurdity of the menu questioning whether it was paused or not was funny lol. I forgot to remove Global Pause from the beta. 

Real world tour! Let me show you all the world of someone who does absolutely nothing for 900 days!
WARNING: Massive amounts of mess, clutter, and general what-were-you-doingness.

First base, and current base. This is the full image hidden behind the paused not paused screen. The statues were cool so I settled there. Later learned that those statues were actually a boss. Oops. Oh well. I've based with bosses before!

My best surviving boats. The one on the right was my first successful boat that I haven't crashed to death. I can only sometimes reach the steering wheel. 

Cave base. I liked the pond being so close to a sinkhole. The rabbit is imported and my friends play with the bunny nightly.

This is my megabase. I was gonna make a whole pig town here before returning home. I got pretty far. Look at that kitchen and storage area! (Yes that is sarcastic.)

Pig town sinkhole. Okay location. The extra saddle is from YotB glitches.There are three glossamer saddles and a whole unseen herd to the left that came from my duped beefalo. 

My second base. Much better location. Right between the swamp and two deserts, and uh, not using a boss battle as decor.

Summer fun. I farm dragontomatos to supplement the fish sticks, butter muffins, trail mixes, and cooked cactus. I run for my life when hounds come and make them burn spawn instead of my summer camp. 

Some fun stuff of a long-term world.

Also, that Beefalo is the same one from https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/88286-screenshot-showcase/page/95/?tab=comments#comment-1378717. She is still alive!

By the way, Wanda is absolutely cursed with frog rains. Nearly every single goddamn rain in spring is a frog rain. I don't know how or why is that.

Compared to the Klei editions, the Forge has evolved a lot. There are a myriad of new modalities, some mind-boggling.
However it was extremely difficult to win the Tenfold Terror, I challenge anyone who wants to test themselves to try, and suffer

Ever had rain in the second to last night of summer, which somehow dries up the oasis lake? because this is certainly my first time.

when it rains in summer the oasis work like "if summer ended" meaning no antlion, no sandstorm and that you can pick the fire flies and succulent flowers because when the rain ends it will respawn again like if was the 1st day of summer with the comeback of antlion (if wasnt killed before i believe) and the sandstorm. Maybe in your case, late summer, was too late to have another sandstorm and the respawn of the fireflies (anyways we have the waterlogged biome to get fireflies) and succulents

Kinda familiar with how the wetness of the ground affects the oasis/sandstorm, but I figured that was more of a transition thing between spring and summer, so I found it weird it could happen twice within a summer.

 

And yup, last day of summer the lake came back as well as the sandstorm, with no antlion as it was killed. And didn't actually know waterlogged biome gave fireflies, almost 2 years and I have yet to use boats for something other than a bridge, oops.
