(Let's just agree I don't enjoy the direction this semi-official mod takes, with giving imbalance and the unfortunate implication of couples being superior.)

Oh Lords. Oh Nocturna, the Elder Ones, hide and shield me from this horror.
Marriage-lovey-love in DST?! Blasphe- *gasp*
*falls on the floor and violently seizures*
*is dragged by the shadow hands to safety*

If you had to do some sort of dark ritual to mortally bind to souls to one another and the benefit was something akin to splitting damage between the pair then that would be more up my alley.

That said, I'm sure this is up some people's alley, so good on them if they want to use it.

Not for me though.

So, Tencent is releasing yet another imbalanced character mod that doesn't fit into the games lore or match it's aesthetic. Right. Because there wasn't enough of those already.

As long as it doesn't make it's way over here I guess it's fine. The steam workshop is already filled to the brim with that kind of scum. It makes is almost impossible to find any good mods that fit well into the game.

Well it's going to be just a mod so they won't force it on us , you have to download it actually to see it ingame . Having said that ... As idea it sounded good but now that I see it ... Those characters don't look like DS characters at all ... I'm really glad that it's just a mod .

We must also know that Tencent agent DST, the DST is committed to making friends to survive the game, and now 500,000 players in China, 40%, which is about 200,000 is a unique image of DST attracted girls.

So, Tencent will be in November 11th, the Chinese people dubbed the "single day" time, launched a MOD they produced - to marry

Yes, you did not wrong, is married,

Open the MOD after the role of access to the game will get a ring, when the two players exchange their rings when they will get married, put on the ring after exchange, a player dies when the ghost will be sent to his other side, Then the living man can revive him

After the marriage there will be a BUFF, the two sides stand at a certain distance will return to SAN, feeding each other, then the effect of food doubled; when one of the HP below 25%, two of them will increase 50% of the attack and defense

You people need to go outside more.

First of all, YES, Pelliway, to the female gamer thing.  YES.  We're not so rare, really!

Oh, so it's two _new_ characters only...who can get married...I'm glad somebody cleared that up, I thought it was a mod that allowed the _regular_, existing characters to get married.  Huh.  (I was also gonna say, "Why do they have to be male and female?" but it's ONLY two specific characters, not a marriage-in-general mod, so that wouldn't apply.)

And yes, I'm way more down for the dark-soulbinding-ritual thing as the idea of a Don't Starve marriage.  Actually, because I've read way too many fantasy books, what came to mind here was the Patryn marriage ceremony from the "Death Gate Cycle" series.  The Patryns were all thrown into The Labyrinth--a sort of magical trap-dimension where everything is weird and trying to get you and life is a constant struggle against creepy creatures and/or outright hostile environments--sound familiar?  Because their lives are so short and survival focused, their marriage ceremony is really short and to the point too.  It goes something like this:

"My life for your life.
My death for your life.
My life for your death.
My death for your death."

They're a...pragmatic people.  : P

THAT would be a style-friendly marriage ceremony for Don't Starve--especially if you're marrying Wigfrid. ;) This, however....well, it's just a mod.  (shrug)

But GADS that art style.

Children dear, compare and contrast these two!

It's only a mod, and players have the choice of whether or not they want to download it. I thought you were cool with mods on your server. I do not mean this a personal attack on what you do on your server, but didn't you have a mod installed that removed clothing durability, among others?

^ THIS

Also Tencent people are not stupid at all. They are pushing actual MULTIPLAYER experience even if it is trough mod but at least they are trying and promoting it because what we have in DST where you NEED another player? What is in DST that is actual MULTIPLAYER experience? Ewecus? Few monsters that have just lot of HP? And thats it! There is not much multiplayer experience in DST. Looks like Tencent is doing something about it

People need to realise that what works for them doesnt need to work with Chinese players. Looks like those 2 new characters (from mod = OPTIONAL) suit very well into "Chinese style". Does any of you look into steam workshop for popular mods being installed by thousands of players? Most of them doesn't look like DS style at all! Most of them are crazy unbalanced and making game just easier. This Tencent mod actually sounds like fun and forcing people to play together

In fact, I did not play the mod, because I think these characters are not the first letter of the name "W", the name of the role of W does not play. . . Always weird

Seems to me you just hate whatever Tencent is doing and then creating these ridiculous posts without proper information and with "i dont like this" thread names and then people are just jumping on "hate train" without knowing any info about anything and that is creating this mass hate on Tencent

Go look into steam workshop and you can see that 99% of modded characters are not starting with letter W. Doesn't mean anything and most of all doesn't mean that mod is bad

This old sop here misunderstood the OP, sorry. I thought it was a mod which was added automatically to the game on this day. If it's not like that, I just want it away from my frail sanity ;).

No, I am not under the impression of this being an attack at all, let alone a personal one. I add mods featuring things which offer new, reasonably style-consistent content and/or more difficulty as a rule of thumb. The mod you're referencing was a feature on quite a different server: our roleplaying world where you need to take care of gameplay (with some harder difficulty for sanity) and focus on the storytelling aspect. The players suggested it and explained the fact with enough persuasion to convince me to put it on for this very occasion.

As long as this mod does not become a feature in the game like the Hallowed Nights (temporary, all get it), I am happy to pretend it doesn't exist in my little bubble. But I was under the impression it was added for 11.11 arbitrarily and this combined with the points mentioned previously (balance issues, being philosophically-problematic and making no sense in the context of the game) did not click with me. I hope all is clear on my side :).

People are more concerned with having enough cut grass for winter than knowing what's in their fellow players' pants.

It matters to me how will I know if my socially awkard flirtous quips will land on the ears of a lady if they don't tell me

I'M SO LONELY !:wilsondisappointed:

To me it seems there's a lot more girls playing this game than you guys think. I typically refer to others as "dude" or "man", and I've had several players get bothered by that and tell me that they're actually girls. To which I reply, "I don't care what you got in between your legs, as long as you don't sit around on your rump all day and mooch off base." And that's all that really matters  in the end.

Ignoring different wording, you portrayed my philosophy. Neat.

PS I'm sunflowers. @weirdobob

Yeah, that's pretty much my philosophy.  Although I do correct people when they directly call me "he" (but not "dude", that's more kinda casual-generic), I do it lightheartedly, with a goofy smiley-face.

But yeah, basically:  Be a decent player, or try to.  And if you don't know the game well enough to do that yet, at least be a decent person.
