Compounding the difficulty was the fact that any hound not instantly killed would begin healing itself within minutes. This wouldn't be such a problem if not for the constant influx of new hounds, which prevented the wounded ones from being noticed.

As much as she wanted to keep her concentration, it became harder and harder as more hounds attacked from the darkness making Arca have to repeatedly defend herself. She couldn't go on for much longer like this... but she wasn't going to abandon T.O.M, she thought. Thinking about that was enough distraction for another hound to jump at her and bite her in the leg, combined with the exhaustion.

"Agh...!" She quickly stabbed the offending hound through its head.

Levi had just been standing there and Charlie came and killed him.

First off, Levi did the things he was supposed to, as to not die.

There was quite a lot of violence. It was making Levi uncomfortable... and when Levi was uncomfortable he sang... his voice would skyrocket whenever one of the wolves would growl. This wasn't quiet the adventure he had in mind, but even so. It was exhilarating.

Conner was barely holding on at this point. The pain in his arm didn't fade as he was clenched his teeth to try and stop thinking about said pain. Soon his grip slipped as he fell down, hitting one of the branches below before continuing to the ground.

Arca saw Conner fall from the tree. She wanted to help him up again, but she could barely stand herself. "T...T.O.M! Assist... Conner!!" She yelled. Another hound jumped from the darkness, which she slashed away, but she couldn't keep herself standing on the ground with her leg injured and fell.

Sylvia was hyperventilating, each breath short and sharp. She fumbled her pistol, which happened to land on Tim's arm. "**** you robot..."

She seemed to be trying to say more, but gulping breaths prevented her from doing so. She climbed higher, and curled herself around the trunk, chest heaving.

Conner tried to breathe again as the wind was knocked out of him during the fall. He felt pain throughout his body but he couldn't focus on any of it as he tried to gasp for the air that refused to go into his lungs.

Red couldn't take anymore of this. As Sylvia climbed higher. Red jumped off her shoulder and climbed up farther into the tree. Then he started throwing pine cones down at the hounds, causing a distraction. Some even hit the hounds square in the head, surprising considering how far up they were. "Sylvia, maybe you should listen to TOM for once! I understand we're in great danger but swearing isn't helping anyone!" then he saw Arca injured on the ground "Oh sh-!" He ran down the trunk of the tree to help best he could. Before he was in reach he shouted at the hounds "Hey over here you big fat ugly poor excuses for wolves!" then he jumped off the tree and ran as most of them gave chase. He tried to stay at the edge of the light but their were too many. He shot up another tree to catch his breath while the others scratched at the bottom of the trunk, barking. Red was furious. "I have so had it with these f***en hounds!" Red shouted, quite surprising since he never swore. He started throwing more pine cones at them as he thought of another plan to get rid of them.

No! This was wrong. She couldn't just lie on the ground, doing nothing! If somebody got hurt, she would blame it on herself! Arca pushed herself up with her arms, slowly regaining her senses. Thanks to Red she wasn't attacked yet, and it gave her some time to recollect herself. Picking up her sword, she carefully stands up again and looked at the situation. Red was now in a tree, distracting some hounds, so were Bell, Matthew and Sylvia. T.O.M fell on the ground... Tim was also in a tree. There was also the newcomer. Art was still missing... the group's position was dire.

Seeing how walking was sort of out of the question, Arca flew over to T.O.M and tried to help him stand up. "Come on... T.O.M... now is not a time to... rest...!" she didn't know anything about robots or that they could crash.

"You are killing them!" Art screamed at Maxwell who watched the action on a shadow screen.
"I suppose you are right. I don't want to kill them, yet" Maxwell waved a hand and one of the large trees fell down. Instead of falling into the water with a thump it became a make shift bridge to another piece of land that had been unseen until now. A land of rocks and small piles of ice. Maxwell had given them and escape route. In the darkness there was also the entrance to a wormhole hidden behind a large gold threaded rock.

Matthew swallowed hard, then clung tighter to Bell.

The hounds were barely flinching from attacks any more. The wounded ones jumped immediately back into the fray as soon as they were hit, having learned of their healing abilities, and the ground was slick with their blood. Corpses stayed down, but nothing less.

Red couldn't see well but he could sense more land just up ahead. There were two hounds left. They could probably out run them or kill them quite easily. Red through down his last pine cone. Damn, it missed. Red ran down and dashed for the tree Sylvia was in with both hounds right behind him. As he went up the trunk, one of the hounds managed to bite his tail by the furs. "Ahhhh!" He managed to pull out of the hounds grip but not without loosing some hair. He ran up and shouted "Everyone! I think there's some land up ahead! We can probably out run the last two hounds!" Then Red considered the injured members of the group who were in no fit state to run. "On second thought, the injured ones should stay here where it's safe while the rest of us lure the hounds away" Red looked at Sylvia who seemed like she was in a trance. "Sylv?"

Arca listened to what Red was saying, and it seemed as if a tree fell over the water, creating a bridge. "Do you... hear that? A... safer landmass...!" She told T.O.M. "We... must... move...!" Arca said as she was pulling him to his wheels, but he fell over on his back again. "T.O.M! Wake... up, soldier!" She shaked his shoulders, attempting to wake him up. "One-two-three!" She said while snapping her fingers.
