Sylvia followed, "Tim! Hold that light up for a second!" She blindly fired a few shots into the darkness, and was awarded with a whimpering yelp by one of the creatures. She managed to just make out red's figure, and scooped him up, jumping over the hound leaning ominously over him. "No time to get scared buddy!"

Bell kept running, paying no attention to the newcomer. Already the shoulder she was carrying the boy on was starting to tire; she had never been all that strong, but she had to push through it. The child wouldn't have been able to keep up if he were to run on his own in this state.

"I am surrounded by fools" Maxwell drawled to Art who growled at him.

Darkness fell and those left in the dark began to hear Charlie coming for them. The hounds continued to bay and harry at the heels of the group driving them Westwards.

Arca noticed something. The group passed by a rather strange looking tree... the one that she saw when observing the land! That meant they were going west...

"This is not good! We are going to face a drop off into the ocean if we keep retreating in this direction!" they met another tree, which was quite large. "This shall have to do! Climb high!" Arca advised and waited for the group to climb up first.

Bell was struggling. Carrying the child was wearing her down, and already one of the hounds was catching up and snapping at her heals. She couldn't deny that the thought of dropping Mathew hadn't crossed her mind; after all, at this rate they would both get caught and eaten. If she dropped the child, she might still make it, but she only tightened her grip, determined to hold on to the child. If she were to let go she might live, but she would never be able to forgive herself.

Then, Arca announced that they were being chased to the ocean, and pointed out a tree that they could climb to escape. Bell knew what she had to do. Pushing herself to put some distance between them and the hound, Bell adjusted her hold on Mathew and let out her extra pair of arms, using them to quickly scale the tree as soon as she came to it. She stopped when she reached the boundary of the spider contraption's light, knowing how unwise it was to try to climb when you couldn't see. There was nothing she could do to help TOM.

Conner stopped at the tree Arca pointed to but he saw T.O.M as the hounds pounces on him. He tossed the rod with the spider light up the bell deciding to try and help T.O.M and if he.. Well they might need the light. He grabbed one of the hounds that was on T.O.M and tried to yank it off as he struggled to get a good grip the hound bite into his arm but he kept trying to get it away from T.O.M.

Arca quickly stabbed the hound that was attacking both Connor and T.O.M with her sword. She saw that it had bitten Connor, and realized he would have trouble climbing the tree. "Quick. Hold onto a branch tightly." Arca said as she grabbed him, flew up and put him next to Bell and Matthew.

She got down again.
"T.O.M, you must..." She noticed he had no legs to climb with, neither did he have enough arms. She was racking her brain on how she would get him up there, but... nothing came from it.
Unless someone came up with an idea, she realized there was only one option. She put her arms on his shoulders, gave a reassuring face and said "You and I, we shall defend from down here!" She turned her head back to the group. "The rest, swiftly make your way up!"

But as she said that, she got jumped on by a hound from the darkness! She was knocked on the ground, sword out of reach leaving her and a hungry dog trying to bite her face off. Arca wasn't extremely strong, so she had trouble keeping it away.
"What a... cowardly hunter... you are...!" she managed to push out of her mouth.

"Y-yes... thank you!" Arca got up and picked up her sword from the ground. She went back-to-back with T.O.M and stood defensively, wings spread far and wide to look threatening. "Now... T.O.M... how much do you know of co-operative battle...?" she asked him very calmly.

Conner held onto the branch as best he could. His arm ached as his grip was tight but he ignored it, he knew he wouldn't be much in a fight so at least he was able to get the dog off T.O.M and Arca was able to slay it. Now he could only hope they would be able to finish off the hounds and he had to make sure he doesn't fall.

"In this situation, there are a few basic things your should know. First, realize that you are not facing highly-skilled opponents. These creatures will most likely attempt to jump at you, and as we are facing back-to-back they cannot attack from behind. So keep your focus on your timing. That is really important at this moment." Arca told T.O.M. "We do not know how many of them are out there, so do not drop your guard." She kept a keen eye on the darkness, in case any other hounds came out of it.

When Bell extended her second set of arms, Matthew almost ended up letting go out of sheer surprise. Only fear of the monsters below kept his grip on Bell's shirt from failing as she climbed the tree, pine needles brushing into their faces.

One of the hounds, which had received several deadly blows earlier and now lay dying in a puddle of blood, began to gently stir. After a minute, it got to its feet, then gave its whole body a shake, blood flying out of its fur in small droplets. Good as new, it snarled at Arca and T.O.M, then charged forwards. Three additional hounds bounded out from the darkness as well, joining the offensive.

Arca slashed her sword at one of the hounds who jumped at them, which fell to the ground. She noticed T.O.M electrocuting a hound with his arm! "T.O.M! I did not know you had an emerald with you!" She also noticed the blood-thirsty dog who emerged from near-death. "This one looks fierce!" she said, pointing her sword at it.

Bell just barely managed to catch the rod, having little time to react when it was thrown up to her. She kept it extended in such a way as to provide light for the two fighting bellow and those in the tree, using two other arms to hold on to Mathew and one to hold onto a branch above them to keep balance as she stood on a relatively thick branch near the trunk of the tree. She was too afraid of the hounds to be afraid of the others seeing her other arms at the moment.

"He's mine!" Red's bullets ripped into the creature's body, and hit it's eyes. As it fell, two more took it's place. Sylvia started to shake. "****, ****, ****, nononononononononononononononononononononononononononononono!" She scrambled up a tree, and curled up, too high to be lunged at.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"

Tim looked around frantically at all the hounds attacking the group. Out of sheer desperation, he brought out his blunderbuss implant. He grabbed a handful of twigs from the ground and looked at them with uncertainly for a moment. "Oh balls to it..." Tim said under his breath as he proceeded to stuff the twigs where his gunpowder was supposed to go. He took aim as a horrible grinding sound was heard coming from Tim's arm, getting the attention of a couple of hounds. "FIRE IN THE HOUND!" Tim screamed as a shower of splinters shot from his arm, impaling 4 hounds, but not killing them. "...balls..." Tim said as he quickly grappled his way into another tree, effectively trapping himself with 4 hounds at the base of the tree.

More and more hounds came from the darkness. First 2 of them leaped at her, and she got them both down with two swings of her sword. Then one came biting from the side, which she deflected. After that another one came leaping forward. These attacks repeated for a few times, and exhaustion started to come into play. Arca started breathing more noticeably. "How numerous... are they...?!" She uttered under heavy breaths.
