Least favorite character.

Recommended Posts

I've been wondering for a while who the least favorite character is, I see a lot of hate directed to Woodie but there are also alot of fans of him.

My least favorite character is Willow. I'm never really interested in playing her because she doesn't have any outstanding skills.

My least favourite character from the gameplay-perspective is Wendy. Abigail is more of a chore than a boon, and the sanity rate does not make up for the damage reduction.

But if you mean personality, jokes, references and motivations, I utterly hate Willow. There's nothing but fire and butts on her mind.

I have to go with Willow too, since (at least in singleplayer DS) her special ability is really boring compared to what some of the other characters get.

I don't have anything to add to that, it's just the funniest thing I read today.

For me it was Walani, but I haven't tried her more than once since her addition, so there's that... Maybe she's better now.

Dayum, it's really hard for me to pick one I don't like! Every single one of them can be enjoyable. I tend to get into mindset of each character I play... Obsessed with fire while playing Willow, being cocky while playing Wolfgang, being greedy with Woodlegs...

I'll go with Walani. I didn't like her personality that much and her perks are kinda 'meh' at best.

Why so much hate on Willow and Walani? I wouldn't say they're the best but they're not bad either.

As for my least fav, I'd have to say Wolfgang. Most of the others I simply don't use.

Willow and Walani both have the same flaw, They both lack in perks and personality.

Woody in singleplayer is annoying, but in multiplayer he is extremely useful.

You're all also forgetting Wilson. Essentially useless abilities if you know what you're doing.

Everybody loves Wilson. Glorious beard, glorious haircut, glorious voice.

I like Wes design but he is my least favourite. His lack of voice and personality are a big turn down for me (I don't even think he is that bad, his low stats are pointless when you have a self sustaining base and a lot of fighting experience). I love games like tf2 with very vocal characters that have funny quotes for everything and i think DS cast is amazing so Wes gets overshadowed a bit.

I dislike Wes, personally.  His DST survivor skin makes him a lot more bearable design-wise, though.

It's not that he has only drawbacks and a terrible perk (which, admittedly, I don't find interesting to just be straight up bad at everything), but something about the total package that just makes me say 'meh'.

I like literally every other character, as they have strengths and weaknesses; tradeoffs that make choosing them an interesting decision and changes actual gameplay in compelling ways.

For Wes, you don't really play differently; you're just Wilson w/ bad stats.  All in all, he's kinda boring to me.

Do you like farming beard hair? Does anyone here like farming beard hair? It's just easy beard hair, that's why people like him.

Or maybe it's just the fabulous beard.

Probably join the Willow bandwagon.

Dunno but with no other Character do i get so easily bored while playing. Her perks are just a minor difference from others but at the end she doesn't really have anything good going for her. Except you like burning stuff but tbh i rather not let the Crazy Pyromaniac girl near all those chests stuffed with not only valuable but also flammable possesions.

Also a slight notch to DST Woodie.

Dunno but i absolutely despise having the Woodmeter on 24/7 and having it decrease the entire time. Woodies Curse is supposed to be triggerd by him chopping to much wood not because he just didn't munch on a log for the last few days. Currently playing him in SP and he's much more managable because i have a lot more control over the Curse compared to DST and my Woodgain is also much higher cause i don't have to eat 2 Logs per tree just to balance out my Woodmeter again (what means i got to chop twice the amount others need to just so i don't trigger the curse by accident).

Perks wise:

That would be Wigfrid, somehow she's even more overpowered than pre StrangeNewPowers Wolfgang, playing as her is just boringly easy...

Personality wise:

Wilbur - Always utterly hated the mods that have such lazy thing as replacing speech lines with random stuff, like Wilton and Dementor. But now, a character like this is really in the game, c'mon Klei, you are above this! Wes is a challenge character, his lack of voice lines is justified because he gives no feedback to player thus making the game harder, no inspection lines for Wilbur is just laziness!

Hmm...if I had to be honest with myself I hate webber...even though he's a really cool concept spiders tamed are just less useful pigmen. He has other perks but frankly compared to others its not much. I also cant stand WX for some reason...I think I just have like super bad luck with him cause my games always end instantly.

Personality wise I dislike Willow, everything is burn this and burn that.

I wouldn't say it has anything to do with laziness at all, they just felt like a monkey didn't need to talk I assume. Clearly they're not lazy as they just finished the inspection lines for every character - even Warly, Woodlegs, and Walani who have unique dialog for stuff in both Shipwrecked AND RoG, they would have had no issues doing the same with Wilbur if they chose to make him talk.

Besides, we already have a semi-intelligent primate character *cough* Wolfy *cough*.

I like characters for their disadvantages, not their perks (that's why I love Wickerbottom: food limitation ? Neat ! No sleep ? Awesome !) For me Wilson is boring as hell, I only played him once to unlock all the others (have you tried this like me when RoG was released ? Deleting save file and unlocking Wes, Webber, Maxwell, and surviving 96 days in one glorious life ?)
