Ryusuta Posted April 28, 2023 Share Posted April 28, 2023 People are talking about "Team Lunar" and "Team Shadow," but what I'd like is for a third option; to give the middle finger to BOTH of those factions and say "We've been doing fine on our own for countless years, no thanks to you. Come at me, chumps." It would be kinda interesting if such a choice would come with some minor benefits to "mundane" items just to give it a small perk which is meant to seem underwhelming. But even if that didn't happen, I feel that could be a fun "challenge mode" option that would actually make a lot of sense within the lore of the story. I don't know about anyone else, but I think I'd have more fun and enjoyment sticking to my guns and not being bribed to one of the evil sides with shiny trinkets. What do you think? Who is considering joining "Team Survivors,"? GenomeSquirrel Posted April 28, 2023 Share Posted April 28, 2023 I guess most of this won’t effect me, I usually just play a few hours in pubs, I’m not interested in bosses, I will support other players doing bosses, but with most other pub players also not interested in this long quest line, which I consider to be a string of the least enjoyable content in the game, I guess I’m not joining a side either. At the end of the day it's gonna be "team survivor" though. Survivors aren't really doing it for knowledge and power, just looking for a way out of the constant. With a few exceptions I guess, for Winona, Wilson, Willow, Wortox, Wormwood and Wurt or Maxwell. My guess is "siding" is just a thing of lore and minor synergies. It's probably up to you if you want to choose a side, just how you can choose to use a hambat, a dark sword, or a glass cutter. For right now I’m siding with Team Charlie- Why?? Because Charlie is Winona’s Little Sister, She was portrayed as sweet and innocent, and even the Main Menu start up for DST shows poor Charlie Wigging out between wanting to Hurt or Help poor Wilson, It seems like she doesn’t have full “control” over here own body, further backed by Winona’s Short where she looks at her sister sad & confused before wigging out and yanking her in the portal with her. Wagstaff on the other hand.. has either Directly or Indirectly been the cause of well.. everything. Dude is seen doing all sorts of borderline evil shady stuff and it seems like he’s trying to help.. but his help backfires constantly. One thing I know for certain is that the LUNAR side of things is particularly Nasty.. Mutated Body Horror Zombified Penguins/Hounds/Crows, Spiders infused with shattered glass.. Wagstaff is fascinated with things like trying to end the world sooner.. I mean if I’ve got to pick a side, I’m going with team Charlie and I hope the story allows me to free her from the clutches of whatever’s possessing her. As far as the Third Non-Existent Neither Option- This won’t pull at my heart strings, And whatever story there is to be seen between Team Charlie/Wagstaff would largely go untold as you attempt to do your own thing. I don’t really see this option being beneficial to the games lore, or the mystery behind whatever the heck Charlie/Wagstaff are up to. However when it comes very specifically to actual In Game Content- I LOVE the Concept of Timeline Rifts.. and I would Prefer it if more of this was added to the game, Yes we know there will be a Lunar & Shadow version of these rifts, but “Technically” the entire island of Moon Quay came out of these type of rifts too… I’d love to see Moon Quay rifts added into the Equation, alongside any other type of future rifts Klei feels like adding.. we could even get Gorge/Forge themed rifts. I just love the idea that much like Wanda breaking the time line for well uhh everything.. the whole Constant and every alternate reality that exists within it, is now going Bonkers. I don't see how any of the options, including the potential third one, would be detrimental to the game's lore, either. The way I see it, the story is going to happen either way; we just decide our personal role in it. It is going to be a really tough choice. Alter changes plants into living beings and severly transforms animals(quite painfully), while Shadows seek out destroying life. Alter seems like an infection, that wants to change the world to its liking, while shadows don´t want the world to exist at all. Don´t forget they tricked the King to destroy his entire civilization, we got pretty lucky the Ancient Gateway broke. It would have been kinda cool if your appearance changed depending on which side you choose. I mean sure you can manually change your skin to the triumphant or lunar versions on your own but its not really the same.
