Resurecting tamed beefalos

Beefalos are dumb. They cant defend themselves without your help therefore they could die very easily. 

The Solution, allow for us to make an upgrade to the beefalo bell that will alow us to ring the bell and revive a dead beefalo. 

Taming beefalos is hard and if your beefalo dies, all that hard work disappears in an instant. This will be a very wellcome QoL change that will incintivize players to utilize beefalos more often and help preserve all the effort we put into taming them.

Edit: so panflutes can stop beefalos fighting(didnt know that i will defenitly carry one around from now on) and also someone suggested to add a way to de-agro beefalo. My solution, just let us ride the beefalo even while they are fighting something. Its just frustrating that it could buck me off and kill it self without giving me the option to do anything. 

 

I wouldn't be opposed to a way to resurrect beefalo (as long as it wasn't easy), but they're really strong so the big penalty for making big mistakes is justified. You can freely use a piggyback on a beefalo since it doesn't slow him down, so bringing a pan flute to break up fights shouldn't be a big deal. 

A better salt lick would be good (one that lasts way longer).

I know of a way to tame multiple beefalos at once, but I can't keep up with the salt lick demand :<

The only other way I know of to dump a bunch of tamed beefalos onto an alt account with the beefalo bells so they never undomesticate, which isn't a reasonable strategy imo.

I have this horrible gut wrenching feeling that if this was ever added to the game that people would then start asking for their fully upgraded boats to have “Insurance” next so they can Respawn it after smashing it.

Roll your world back to a previous save if you screw up- you technically aren’t “cheating” by doing this because you quite literally go back in time to a previous point of the game, and everything you did between where you screwed up and your last rollback will be lost to “Time Shenanigans” The cost? You lose real life hours of progress rolling back your screw up.

As someone who played Ark Survival Evolved in its Early Beta Days where you had to spend 20 real world days raising a dinosaur that needed care and love from you every 6 hours with no way to pause or Cyropod this dinosaur, only for it to die in less then 5 minutes due to a glitch where it fell through the world map..

I can safely say having your tamed Beefalo die in DST doesn’t even begin to compare.

If you want a undying Beefalo like Mount just play as Walter..

But when Beefalo start getting revive methods and Boats have accident insurance that’s when I’ll Quit and Delete DST then PRAY some other development company picks up the concept I loved about DS/DST and they end up doing it better.

I hate to sound rude or harsh or whatever- but I’ve lived long enough to see many great games get ruined by bad ideas only for another development team to steal the best parts of what made that game great- and create something better.

Here's a idea instead of revivals how about being able to tell a tamed beefalo to stop fighting to lower the odds of what may feel like unfair beefalo deaths. Maybe even a command to make your beefalo flee from hostiles like Woby.

I like how despite there's a difference between followers maintenance of beefalos and other mobs, the death is treated on the same line, only you'll be expected to be more caring.

Still, while it's not along with my preferences it might be fun too so I can't oppose that. Having a beefalo ghost that pop from their body and that could be revived if it is entirely tamed in an experienced way could be original and if not for that I'm anyway looking forward to have more things added to the beefalo riding system with different saddles and refuelable salt licks or such, even that revival if it's done right, they've got their own filter now I wanna see this filled up ! :)

Gorge has 2 good beefalo armor pieces just sitting there doing nothing

 

I've always like the idea of reviving a beefalos, as I've lost some just off screen before. However I don't think the process should be easy. I think a saddle that works similar to a life giving amulet would be the most balanced situation. It implies you are being proactive in a situation where no matter what you do, your beefalo may die as a consequence to things outside of your control. In exchange for that insurance you're giving up the advantages of other saddles. Thought it should have the same speed as the basic saddle.

One such scenario is going around your world killing moose/goose. I left mine a very fair distance away and as the battle raged on I somehow got closer to it. Without my knowledge another moose/goose made a beeline for my beefalo and killed it.

This is completely backwards. Rollback is infinitude more convenient than beefalo resurrection and boat insurance.

You aren’t being “harsh” you’re just being OP-eccentric.
