  • Tweaked the Overcoming Arachnophobia book effect.
  • The book Apicultural Notes:
    • Adjusted both the amount of Grumble Bees spawned by the book and the maximum amount of bees Wickerbottom can have at once.

  • The Codex Umbra can no longer be stored in the Book Cabinet.
  • Wortox Map Soul Hops indicators have been adjusted to be more clear on their use.
  • Tweaked recipes for The Lunar Grimoire, Lux Aeterna and The Angler’s Survival Guide.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed bug where Wickerbottom can sleep after dying and resurrecting.
  • Wortox Map Soul Hops indicators take into account the free soul hop.
  • Bees from Apicultural Notes will now:
    • Need force attack when hovering over with a mouse.
    • No longer block players from opening gifts.
    • No longer target monster players when PvP is disabled and now target all enemy players when PvP is enabled.
    • No longer become aggressive when their summoner leaves.
  • The Horticulture books now grow Banana Bushes and Stone Fruit Bushes to their last stage.
  • Fixed a bug where players would become permanently waterproof after using the Tempering Temperatures book.
  • Applied Silviculture now grows trees planted into the Festive Tree Planter all the way to their last stage.
  • The lights spawned by Lux Aeterna no longer last forever if you reload the server.
  • Hammering the Book Cabinet no longer deletes the books contained within.
  • Fixed player disappearing momentarily after using Gnarwail Horn.

The Lunar Grimoire

the lunar grimoire recipe adjustment is a bit over the top. I get the design, you get an opal from the archives and then you use it to make more opals without having to wait so long. It just... doesn't sit right with me.

o ajuste da receita do grimório lunar é um pouco exagerado. Eu pego o design, você pega uma opala dos arquivos e depois usa para fazer mais opalas sem ter que esperar tanto. Simplesmente... não combina comigo.

It forces players to explore and find the lunar island, in addition to looking for the files, there is also the fact that sacrificing the stones from the files will soon force you to go to the ruins to make staffs, I think it was well balanced because it's nothing you can get right away start.

Overcoming Arachnophobia is now a 3x3 area that lasts 2 minutes. Already sounding way better than before.

Apicultural Notes now summons 2 bees per cast with a limit of 16. Weird that it's not a multiple of 6 (2x3), but it's better than 9.

Lunar Grimoire crafting nerf, seems a bit harsh but anything's better than nerfing the actual effect. (Edit: hate it, actually)

That was a bug? lmao

But also: YES!!!

I'd say Horticulture, Expanded is now in a good place as it has some uses cases that Horti, Abridged can't do as well (and vice-versa).

This is absolutely horrible. Let me explain why:

1) this book although it was strong, its not THAT powerful to require an opal gem to craft. I think requiring 2 lunar moths is more than enough nerf for it, if preventing early game abuse was the point.

2) this will make Wickerbottoms now rush for the archives, steal the free opals and curse the world so they have to make the lunar event THREE TIMES just to start the quest there

3) Without stealing the original 2 free opal gems, a book this expensive will most likely never be crafted: the materials come too late for it to be effective, you'd just do better going all the way to activate the moonstorm event.

Please review this (IMO very poorly thought suggestion) and just make it 2 moon moths only instead. Or add 5 moon stones and 5 moon moths, doesn't matter, just remove opal gem from it. keeping it at this price is the same as effectively removing the book altogether.

I'm not necessarily opposed to like, the idea of wickerbottom being forced to learn the lunar grimoire recipe from the archives so she sees it ingame before shes able to craft it, but I think the recipe sucks a bit otherwise. Having it require an opal to craft makes it so only 2 are available without any meddling from players, which kind of sucks in a multiplayer setting, and from then on you're limited to the amount of yellow gems that you can scrounge up, which is very limiting.

I think it could absolutely stand to be tuned down.

Agree with a lot, I never thought it was that powerful either (Not sure I like it lore-wise/story-wise but that's a whole other topic)

I think it's kinda funny the forums got so stuck up on the moon book while arguably the rain book is so much better. It nearly nullifies two entire seasons, being able to turn off rain makes spring a breeze, and rain in summer erases the sandstorms + the antlion, and overheating if you're willing to let yourself get wet(Sanity loss can definitely hurt a bit, though I've been playing mainly Wormwood with my friends so no sanity loss there! Hehe).

Don't get me wrong the moon book is still pretty great, the enlightenless permanent full moons are awesome and I still prefer it over the actual moonstorms, but I always felt the rain book was so much more useful in general cases, yet the only complaint I ever saw about them was the fact it was character exclusive.

I mean considering how easy it is to find the lunar island in the early game in a group I can't really agree.

Do you know how to activate the moon storm event because if your saying this while knowing you have to know this is a massive exaggeration and that's before even talking about the consequences of the moon storm event.

That aside I am surprised they went through with it as I was someone who supported this change I give the devs my thanks. (Also it feels so much better from a lore perspective.)

ok now the number of bees you can summon is 16 and from each reading of the book 2 will be generated, without a doubt it is much better, I still need to see how they work in battle but I am liking this.

It would still be great to include something allusive to the queen bee to the recipe of the book to give a more natural context to the book.

YaY I love the crafting recipe changes, and I love that you now have to actually go to Lunar or Pearls to get the Moon Moth, What I’m not extremely happy about is the book now requiring a Multi-Colored Easter Egg, I have “Some” knowledge about the game but I don’t know Everything, the player shouldn’t be expected to know Everything.. And when it comes to certain craftables- I have NEVER been able to make them because I don’t know where or how to reliably get the resources for them..

For example when Wolfgang’s Gembells were changed to require Thelucite- I have no idea where to reliably get this, so instead of crafting Gembells (which I did ALOT of when all you needed was purple gems from killing Red & Blue hounds then combining them) I now just resort to building Marble Dumbells instead.

Lunar Grimore is now in an even worse position because it’s now effectively a super late game/super experienced player craft-

However since this book also causes massive interference to Woodie players.. maybe this balances out? I don’t know.. All I know for certain that is unless Opals became easy to craft I doubt you will ever witness many Wickers knowing how to craft this book.

I mean considering how many perks we have that more or less give you a easier seasonal experience at this point I don't see this as too much of a issue.

I was loosing my mind wondering how I cheated a whole spring like that for at least a solid hour, almost though my Warly friend was feeding me Cordon Blue everytime I wasn't watching despite I'm sure you cannot do it, good to finally know what was going on.

Other than that I'll give my little opinion regarding of the grimoire crafting change, I understand the critics, kinda feel that this is definitively gonna be reverted seeing the first feedbacks, but I at least for the time being I wanted to say that I like the idea of a book that isn't so early on to build or at least demand a certain unique road to obtain, especially given of the pretty amazing effect in some mob / moon glass farming process. Was nice to see the consideration of using this gem.

Also not sure why reducing the cost of the Angler Book to only two logs basically, I liked the ocean fishing rod of the craft as a way to properly convert the inevitable spam of rods I was getting in Sunken Chests, so well, Lureplant time again.
