^ Also that Spiderqueen riding was considered but in the end it was concluded that focusing on it too much would have changed the direction of the whole update so instead they went with tweaking Spiderqueen by giving her a unique spider- the nurse spider.

And apparently Nurse spiders were initially designed as suicide spiders, as they'd to their jump animation, explode, sacrificing themselves making more spiders appear. They kept the rough sketches and design but refined it into a healing variant.

Also something of note is that they confirmed Spider Friendship is intentionally indefinite now. Of course there are lots of things that can end a contract prematurely like switching shards, using Shoo Box, attacking your employee, death of one or both parties etc. but there is no hunger or loyalty timer on spiders. Perhaps something that should have been on the patch notes.

Looks like we got the second option in the release, which is really a pity because I find option 1 happy and option 2 creepy. Who knew that cheeks make such a big difference
