If I'm not mistaken, the phase 2 boss's spin attack will now match the speed of its target if the target is moving faster than the normal boss speed.

Oh no.

Edit: It seems like that this only matters while the boss is getting ready to spin. Guess that's not too bad.

Thank you so very much for this. Even if i would love more, 5 glow caps makes it worth it to keep doing this boss which is also really nice, since i'm a firm believer of bosses being something that doesnt stop being good to do in long worlds is a must.

That's pretty cool and makes them a little better than festive lights now as they should be.  Just to clarify one crown shard produces the same amount of light as four festive lights/light bulbs?

Does this mean that a crown shard plus 3 festive lights would give off a bigger light radius than four festive lights?

If so.... I'm going to be fighting  the new boss a ton more than I thought..

Could you make it so you can put crown shards in Winters Feast trees as lights?

I would be able to have the most expensive xmas lights in existence.

Nah, the light radius doesn't get bigger than 1 crown shard / 4 "everything else". But you still need to fill out the glowcaps to achieve full color.

Oh... well that's pretty lame tbh.

I'll still just take four festive lights instead in that case, no reason not to and they're far easier to obtain. Just the one crown and boss fight for me after all.

Still cool that they are slightly better than festive lights now. The no spoiling perk can turn glowcaps into spore holders too which is kinda neat.

A bit off-topic, but I saw "Threaded Render" graphic option is now available in recent update, and this sounds like another great optimization improvement! Thank you devs for doing such an amazing job, I also have been appreciating the loading time reducing on March 22th a lot, and now things are even better!

the boss 1st phase is lacking from his melee atack (the one that he makes flapping like a fish after rotate). I hope isnt intended, it was cool

If all things in the light no longer perish, can I place all my food in the lights radius on the ground and have food that never spoils? :wilson_lightbulb:

what doesnt perish is items placed INSIDE the glowcap, basically to make spores able to bring color but without the boring task of replacing them every year

Other items socketed/stored inside the light in it's four slots so only mushroom spores, light bulbs and festive lights.

I do wish there was a way to squeeze some more Crown Shards out of the fight.

The fight itself is manageable enough, but rebuilding the Lunar Siphonator from scratch every time you want another 5 crown shards is pretty tedious and it's really just kind of a chore.

Now that we can no longer craft the Enlightened Crown or dupe the shards, I hope we could get some additional shards from mining the Enlightened Snares the phase 3 Celestial Champion summons. They even look like oversized Crown Shards

I was thinking they could either:

A. Make it so it hitting the siphon station doesn’t destroy it fully but “ruins” it a good amount, but is still repairable. You could hammer it to get some of the materials back, or repair it for far less then the amount needed originally. I mainly consider this route since doing the Wagstaff event 3 times every time you want the crown is a massive pain, and there’s no real “challenge” to waiting around for moonglass/moongleams to spawn to build it anyway.

B. Your suggestion of making them drop enlightened shards. It would be interesting to farm the boss for them, since overall they don’t do much on their own. It’s not like you can bulk farm them to make 82 crowns now anyway : P

I think there is not enough talk about that!

Everyone is talking about the infinite light. But I think the improvements to the DST engine are far more important in long term!

Now that the crown is uncraftable, maybe a crafting recipe for the shards with infused moon glass? Or maybe the Enlightened Snares the 3rd phase Celestial Champion spawns should drop more of them?

I really like this idea. I think there needs to be more than 5 shards per boss fight, and adding another use for infused shards sounds really nice.

What indirect buff did he get?

Keeping spores fresh indefinitely.

Planting spores gives Wormwood sanity and I'm sure you know his affinity with mushy planters.

The crown is already a great item combined with cooked green caps. Now I can store green spores year around.

Its a small buff.

Blue spores= beef healing

Red spores= eating

Mushy planters are a 1 stop shop for every need.

Edit: You can use only red shrooms for your needs. Eat them for hunger. Place them in planters for sanity. Place them in a compost for health.

I used to have to craft mushy hats to replenish my supply. Now I can save up a years worth inside mushy lights.
