Unpopular opinion- but the one’s I want to see reworked the most are the ones who don’t seem to be interesting enough to play as- I said this in a recent post but for me unique gameplay makes or breaks a character- I can Careless about Reduced or Increased Health/Damage stats

(that is something that on the MOBILE version of DS you can toggle in World Gen settings and can apply to any character you pick to play as instead of being tied down to WHO You Play as..)

What I care about is exciting new content/ ways of engaging with the world around me, some people want Webber to be reworked most but in My opinion it’s the characters like Wilson, Wes and Wolfgang that need the rework the most.

Wes is the weakest character in the game, but outside of that the only thing he has is a few useless balloons.. He should have unique gameplay- and while this is a JOKE it is a clear example of Unique Gameplay: To even unlock Wes you have to rescue him from an invisibility room that clockworks have locked him in, so a Unique gameplay feature for Wes that would be highly annoying... and Exclusive to him would be having to navigate around invisible walls all over the map- This makes him more of a challenge character- And more importantly it’s not Wasting Spears and Helmets by not being as useful when in his hands.

TL:DR a challenge that makes him a burden on Himself and no other player.

Then Theres Wolfgang- Who is equally as boring as Wes, Eat Food, Become Mighty.. Superman punch my Foes to death with my fists.. where are his cowardly traits? Where is the dumbell he needs to pick up and workout with? If he is so “Mighty” why can’t he easily move structures other characters can not? Better yet.. if Wavey Jones appears and raises the sails on my boat and it’s drifting away why can’t Wolfgang go into kneeled down “Boost Me up animation” like all those old Tom Clancy games I played back on Playstation 2... to where a play can walk up to Wolfgang and interact with him to be thrown through the air to land at the location of the now misplaced boat?

Wolfgangs circus posters show him doing stuff like launching himself out of a human canon or lifting dumbbells.. why is his only gameplay “Eat Food, Become Superman.”

the above examples are why I feel Wilson, Wes and Wolfgang need the rework more than anybody else.

Maxwell of course. He no longer gets the 20 sanity bonus, yet he still has the 75 hp penalty and shadowduelists are useless.

also wickerbottom, way too OP, need books to require more resources or you can't use books with zero sanity or something.

Haven't played as most of these characters yet, but right now, the rework I'm most interested in is WX-78's. I like the idea of a robot character and their quotes are amusing, but I just didn't find their playstyle particularly fun or interesting. Also, I'm pretty curious what Klei will come up with for WX's animated short.

Maxwell but it's not because of he needs, I really wonder what we got. Also he is my main and I want get his update earlier. But if we talking about deserving, Webber is the one. He really needs some buffs to improve his teamwork.

is a MULTIPLAYER game, where you're meant to help so everyone can survive, so Wes as a challenge character obviously doesn't work for DST, only for solo Don't Starve.

i'm all for giving wes perks to make him more fun to play, but I'm not for making him less challenging. i'd say the idea of people hating on Wes is on the community, not the character, for the idea of a character purely meant to be challenging is something that not only still fits for multiplayer games, but also should be in games in general.

Think of it this way, there is nothing in this game that a wes can't accomplish barring like, building a catapult or something. Theoretically speaking, a wes can contribute an awful lot to a team of characters, regardless of how he has no special ghost pals or hilarious 6-item crafting tab.

it'd actually be pretty interesting if wes got a lot more into decor and making stuff more pretty, kind of a natural evolution of how a few people only dare play him after they've got everything sorted out and are, as one says, Megabasing.

people still play DST solo, and not everyone plays with a "for the good of the hive mindset"

I'm very hopeful that instead of just getting more books, Wickerbottom will get some more core gameplay mechanics.

Maybe something to do with research, because right now she doesn't have any unique gameplay loop, and her downsides are very negligible.
