It's called the Forge.:wilson_sneaky:

The Forge is a temporary content. We're talking about permanent, base game content.

I agree with you there. That should be the next DLC

Sure, it can be a DLC. Just don't touch the base game's remaining... "Normality".

Smoking cigars is bad for ye, gives ye lung cancer and whatnot. I doubt Klei wants to promote that since so many kids play the game as well. Just my two pence on the matter.

As for actual character changes, Wilson getting something science related to craft would be neat. Also something to make Willow an actual character would be nice, maybe remove her randomly burning things when she's insane (if that's still in the game, I know it was at one point, but I don't play Willow, lol). Naturally Woodie would need a bit of a buff, probably to beaver form. Webber is also kind of lackluster.

Give Wes another meme to make the game harder as well, heh.

I always thought it would be cool if webber could make a special food for spiders that would make them temporarily larger and stronger. If a spider is fed this food 3 times in a row, it would be big enough for webber to ride it around.

I love this idea of being able to boost the spiders. I mean anyone can befriend a pig or a bunnyman and give it a helmet to increase its durability a lot, but with spiders you always end up with the same low hp creatures.

Sure you have quick and easy access to sheer numbers of friends you probably can't accomplish with bunnymen (unless you really put a lot of effort into making tons of hutches) but the spiders hp is generally speaking so low, that most mobs that would deserve using them against, either deal AOE or just have a strong enough punch that can wipe em all in a couple of hits. Also as soon as spider queens start popping, anyone can become a better webber with the hat...

Webber definately deserves to make spider armies feel special and useful, other than only to make them kill eachother.

i had a horrible thought

they might be altering the characters to make them all only work in teams

Winos downsides are negated by a friend to craft for you , you need a friend to succeed

and we know all characters are going through the reworks so i think that they will make DST even more single-player hostile

as a person who can't get any friends to coordinate DST and hates random servers this is horrible

i don't want another game like overwatch to if you don't work as a team you basically can't do a thing

i always felt like this game had about the same teamwork as in TF2 to which you can have a team but you aren't restricted to it to succeed

and some may say just play DS but what about the new content, characters, skins, events, more mods, and graphical improvements

I was thinking about my boy Webber a lot today, especially now that we've seen how elaborate Winona's rework is (meaning, completely new assets added to the game rather than some simple number tweaks).

What if Wilson has taught Webber a few science tricks, and Webber can craft a special spider dens where the spiders have little uh, mind control helmets or whatever that make the spiders friendly to all players and gives them a little bit of armor. These dens wouldn't produce as many spiders, of course, but the fact that they could now be used as guards for the base would mean Webber could be part of the team. Only Webber would be able to "tame" them to follow, of course, and the dens should be expensive (doodads+spider den mats+gems maybe so that they are more end-game, and basic dens still have a purpose for Webber).

Also, being able to place webbing turf would help create killzones for the catapult/tooth traps. Oh, and web walls that spiders don't attack if they don't do anything else would be appreciated!

Honestly, all I want is Woodie and Willow to be viable again. Woodie especially.

I really want Sanity not to be a thing when you are in Werebeaver form. The sanity distortion and sound effects happening while you have the beaver's banjo music and sepia tint makes the game insufferable. Make the sanity penalty occur once you transform back to human form.

Also, I want the Werebeaver to be viable choice for fighting again. PVP is dead, so I don't know why Klei is so worried about overpowering him.

I guess they don't want people to be in Beaver form forever. A possible solution is to keep him weak, like he is now, during normal transformations, but during the full moons he becomes an unstoppable tank. It fits with the whole werewolf thing and on PVP servers (if there are any left) it be a cool mechanic for players to be afraid to go out into the woods at full moon cause there's werewolves out there!

Here is what I believe the characters need:

-A selfish perk

-A team oriented perk

-A reason to stay in a party at any given time

Let me explain what I mean by that.

-A selfish perk: these are the perks that make the character feel unique, whether they can be team oriented or not, its that extra something that you do better than the others as that character. Examples: WX is an example of selfish perks character, wigfrids regeneration and resistance, maxwell summoning and sanity regen, Wolfgang mighty, etc.

-A team oriented perk: Something new or existent that could benefit the char itself but benefits the team above all. Current examples could be wickerbottoms books, wigfrids helmets, Wendy's sanity stations. I'd further extend this on some characters, as an example I'd add wigfrids battle cry from the forge, but id make it so it only affects non wigfrids, meaning that having a wigfrid fighting nearby would benefit the team overall dps, but not wigfrid herself. Wes is probably the best candidate to get a lot of team boosts but without getting benefits himself directly, so he remains true to his original weak self.

-A reason to stay: Having a wolfgang always around is useful, having a maxwell always around getting wood and living logs is also somewhat useful, or a wendy farming shadow monkeys and spiders is also decently benefitial. This game allows for any character to be eventually replaced by a special contraption so basically a wes can accomplish all efficiently, but it would be interesting if despite this, the new or rebalanced perks would remain relevant in the late game, and  having a reason to make you think twice before moving away from your character. An example of characters that remain relevant througout the game, and specially in the late game, are Wolfgang, WX and Wickerbottom (which is not a coincidence that they are considered better). And a bad example of this is Willow, since her lighters are not really useful to the team since you can do better with a lamp or a torch, and crafting a Bernie (which is useful) only takes someone to enter as willow once , make a bunch of bernies wherever you need them, and then never log in again since the team of any character composition can handle fixing them. This is what should be prevented.

All of the above, and on top of that, I would say the character should be made fun to play with. Wickerbottom pretty much covers all of these perks, but she isn't that fun to play from my experience.

If the meta characters can't be touched because any hint of a downside would tamper with their playstyles, why not consider a third option, and give them fun downsides?

What should sound like an oxymoron shouldn't be, if we, with careful judgement, give them just enough challenge to prevent players from becoming complacent, yet not so much as to cripple them with upsides that hardly matter.

If still no, then, I don't think I have anything more to say at all.
