Why do stressed dupes attack import life support items first?

Just a observation before the update but when a dupe was under high stress, they attacked generators, batteries, and oxygen diffusers. Was there a reason for these targeted attacks? It happened on several bases.

Probably just to make you pay attention to the problem ;)

I tried to get him to the massage tables but he wouldn't get on.

I think once they hit 100% it's too late. The intervention has to happen sooner...

The stress reaction occurs for a period of time and then their stress gets cut by like 40% or something like that...? But by then a bunch of things will be wrecked...

I wonder if you could like, lock them in a jail cell. But I also seem to remember that the Destructive trait is kinda OP in the sense that they can punch through anything and everything...

Hold on. It seems they won't punch pneumatic doors or get through metal tiles. So you can give them a time out in a "drunk tank" or "jail cell"... That is, if you can get them to move into place.

Destructive Dupes do inherently (through their coding) indeed target deoxi... diffusers and batteries first.

You would like to know the justification for that?

There is none, like there is no justification for people to drag innocent others into their problems and ultimately suicides. Yet people still do that because they are just that vile and malicious.

I have no need for it as I don't allow dupes to get stressed out to anywhere near breaking point, or at all really but if you consistently have that problem you can use that knowledge to build a couple of tiny batteries as punch bags to let them rage out on in a special room for this purpose. They must be connected to a power source but you can disable them so they don't generate heat or lose power at all.

They don't target important life support items first, your forgetting that you're not the hole universe and doesn't have enough data in just you're game to make silly statements like that.

Instead of being rude and present very flawed data as fact, why did you decide it was better to state fake news than asking as a question if it was changed?

They target machinery. Stress situations are most likely to arise (if ever) in the early game, maybe due to low oxygen and food, low decor, clogged up toilets, debris, rushed jobs and low morale. And what kind of machinery does one have in the early game? Generators, batteries and diffusers, not much more. Makes sense they target that.

The OP's dupes should totally punch him for his megalomania, and making such a bold statement in such a rude post!  Then everyone else in this thread. Because why not. They deserve revenge for all the hardships we put them through.

This is so cool it makes me wanna do that. Need punching bag item now. Also, using the rock granulator should reduce stress!

I had my dupes target the electric grills. But they also broke a few random tiles. I think i didn`t have small batteries at that point and i don`t remember if i still had deoxydizers (it was before they got renamed).

It would make much more sense if they attacked the closest thing or a random machine nearby instead of always the same type of thing.

I once had my last dupe miner stuck in the jungle biome. With rrst of colony dead he reached 100% strrss and begun bashing his head and smashing fists against the wall. He got rid of some of his stress that way.

That also happened in some of my playthroughs. They left the mushers alone but the grills were really magnets to angry stressed out dupes.

I think my favorite stress attack was when a stressed meep kept punching a airlock door and no damage happened to the door. It was so hilariously pathetic.:wilson_ecstatic:

Are you okay...? I was just stating a observation. Didn't mean to attack you if I did in some way.

They might need to make boxing bags in the future for stress management. It'd be a great addition.

I never take desctructive dupes. Most annoying of the 4 stress reactions. The game is also very 'random' with repairing structures. Sometimes dupes just don't repair things and you have to deconstruct it and rebuild it.

I reach 100% stress only in my first games. Now is impossible if you plan your path of the dupes. I never pas to the superior tier jobs until i have the proper infrastructure. Ex. If i have a max 12 stress points don't go to 15 tier jobs. Why train your dupe as a tenured scientist when you feed all your dupes whit mush fry. Or why train your dupe to be an astronaut when you don't have constant production of  BBQ or  Pepper bread. I also have one massage clinic but same as the med bay, is never used.

The only message i get now after upgrade is long commute. But i don't think i need a tube transport right now

There are I believe wrangle animations to wrangle duplicants. Should be a funny way to apprehend and contain agressive dupes.

I saw that in Data mining. Really hoping that's implemented in the future.
