There you folks go.

A bug is a bug, and in this instance it goes against the intention that the hands slot is to be taken by the lantern much like the miner's hat takes over the hat slot.

If Klei wanted it, then they would have made it able to be turned on in the inventory and forgo the equip slots all together.

Mods are able to alter Klei's intentions and should be used as such.

It provides one the option to change pretty much any aspect of the game.

people who used this exploit probably will not use this mod since their opinion is mods make the game too easy.

there are several other bugs in the game that people exploit.. stacking trees in DS, stacking abby flowers in DST, klaus freezing when you teleport the ice deer away, taking the bird out of the cage in the nighttime and putting it back it.

the bird bug is not that important other things destroy the game imo. why should someone use the nightmare amulet when you can have 50 evil flowers stacked. why chop every tree solo when you can have tons of wood with one.

exploits and bugs are not that bad tho.. it can help to develope new things, a lot of game devs just got ideas from bugs and exploits and put new stuff into their game. therefore its good to report and discuss exploits, maybe klei gets a sweet idea for new content.

but because of this why not push for it to actually be imlpemented game is constantly being changed cause of these reign updates

so why dont we as a community help the devs out? and have it possible to have things that with enough push be implemented?

If you want to push for it as a feature do that, but stop saying it's not a bug or that it's open to interpretation. The word bug as it pertains to computer software has a definition.

But don't get your hopes up, because this mistake was completely counter to their intended design, which was having the benefits of only a single item's effects from an equipment slot at a time.

What lantern bug? This one?

The bug was this:

Drop the desired hand slot item onto the ground.

Put a lantern into your hands.

Click to pick up the item on the ground, and while moving towards it click on the lantern.

The item in your hands slot can be used and your lantern is still 'on' providing light.

Well, there is a way...

I say we boycott DST until they re-implement the "bug"! Hack their servers! Burn their houses! Spam their inboxes, their social media! Just be general nuisances and trolls! Overload the fourms!

...but that said, I do not condone the usage of Troll means and terrorism to get what we want, therefore I am not responsible for any damage caused by this pandemic. :)

(I'm just serious Klei, please no kill. *Laughs Fearfully and Then Cries*)

Why can't we just have two slots for left hand and right hand?

(That Other Hand is Lonely)

I posted a thread on this in Suggestions. Tempted to make a simple mod that allows you to hold tagged items. Wouldn't show up unless you're walking left though.

Not really.

Still, removing kiting in favour of shields would change the game pretty dramatically. Might make up for the easy light.

How is it not a luxury! Saying "not really" doesn't really cover it...

That hand's for master baiting silly! Always need to have a free hand for that!

All ****s and giggles aside it's actually a little known fact that the characters switch which hand they're using to hold things depending on which way they're facing. And I dunno about you, but I have a hard time switching a lantern from one hand to another while holding a nightmare sword as is, but factor in that I'm moving?! Impossibru. JS. :3
