Extend Tragic Torch deadline

Recommended Posts

Oh Klei.. i'm very upset. I just noticed today about this, it's tragic. I was looking for skins on wiki and get a note about the puzzle.. yeah, RIGHT THIS DAY. It's 01/11/2016, 6h41 PM and I made the puzzle and got nothing.

I'm really sad, this torch is so cool. :(

Could you guys give more time? :`(

How ?

Both random drops. The Halloween one will be possible to obtain until Nov 8th, and the survivor one is always possible to get, but very rare. You could also buy them, but they cost about half as much as the game itself did.

The hallowed one was €18 yesterday... I wanted to buy it, but that's too much for me.

Ooor just ask your pal to craft you a lot. I mean I do this with craftables. I make these rucksacks and Chester caps, my buddy makes other things... OP, just ask me where to come and I'll craft you so many tragic torches and bottomless pits you'll complain of lag.

i saw the puzzle one day after it ends, i was so upset when i found i've miss it for one day ahah :D

I know, same story here.

I secretly keep hoping I can send someone a message if I manage to get all the skins and they will give me that torch. But I will probably never have them all because of this *cry*

Pff hey, that's nothing, I came into the forum/found out about the puzzle like TWO DAYS too late!  Two...DAYS! But, I wasn't here in time, so I wasn't here in time.  I'm kinda used to this kind of thing, though, 'cos I've been playing Kingdom of Loathing for...wow...12 years?!  (Well, I haven't been back there in a long time, but...) and they have limited-time trophies too, so...

The thing I'm the saddest about, actually, is that I wasn't here in time to join in the _discussion_.  That thread looked so fun!  And is the reason I joined the board.  Seriously--I read people being all smart and funny and reference-y and mostly spelling correctly and treating each other with decency, and was like, "This is a board for me!"  I suck at puzzles, especially the kind where you have to look at it in infrared light while standing upside-down and translating from Ancient Sumerian*, but it would've been fun to be in on the actual _doing_ of it.

...even if I would've utterly failed, 'cos GOD DAMN.

...Notorious

*Seriously, you have to change the contrast and colour on the picture to kinda vaguely see messy letters, some of which only look like "letters" at all if you squint and turn your head sideways?  And then there's the part with recognising freaking CLICKS in the ragtime music as Morse Code and the translating from Latin...I'm kinda not exaggerating at _all_.  It's Iike "Well, of course the 'i' in the name 'Wilson" is a microdot, DUH!" level.  I really hope the next one isn't as grasping-at-straws single-pixel-hunting conspiracy-nut obscure, 'cos I'd kinda like to have a chance too. :\

It WAS that fun actually. I joined post SW, at a time where many old players dropped the game because the way SW headed and ended at made them lose interest, and was sad that I joined past the prime time, but the Cyclum puzzle was why I was glad I decided to move onto DST.

And I think the puzzle's that complex because over time they learned to what lenghts would the fanbase go to. Look at the previous ones and how gradually they got harder.

Everyone was so happy after we had cracked that William Carter puzzle... These puzzles always sent the forum into frenzy, but I was often too damn slow to contribute to the chase and ended up as a spectator, watching as the unknown slowly unfolded before me. And the joy of these days, of the Insanity and the Letters and Scratches and Train Crash (Elephant unharmed.) and the Last Act makes me too damn sad over the fact that I had missed the Cyclum like a chump, as I have returned only after it was already done... because you see... I was one of the old folk who had left when SW was announced.

I'm not sad because I've missed a skin torch. I'm sad because I wasn't around to see the magic happen.

EXACTLY!  Although like you, I would've also been a spectator.  : P

Well, I had solved "Insanity" and "Migration" by myself, but both times I had crashed back here with screams "lookwhatifound", everyone here already knew it. Further down the line, every time someone figured out the next step, I ran there, scoured for clues, then returned back after progressing only to find that a dozen of people already did the thing. So by the time of Last Act I kinda... demoted myself to the watching position.

Still was really fun though.
