Ok so we've talked about favorite/least favorite characters and most annoying creatures and ways to die but what about your favorite creature? Whether it be the cutest or most helpful. This applies to all DLCs.

For me, I'd have to say the Bottlenose Ballphin. They're just so cute!

Everytime I see them swimming around, it always cheers me up ^_^ and I heard they attack sea hounds as well which is a plus :) I just couldn't bring myself to kill/attack them.

I'm pretty sure this is what everyone expects me to say but I'll say it anyway!

My favorite creature is the bearger because he causes destruction just to eat all of your food then falls asleep like it's nothing and you should be glad he chose to eat all of your food.

Oh and the spiders are cute.

Chester is my favorite! My wife bought me a plushy Chester at my request. He's so cute, like a lil puppy. In game, I don't leave home without him.

My second favorite are Rock Lobsters, but I admit to being a real bastard to them. They are my foot soldiers in the Ruins and Caves, and I always bring them up to the surface even though they are an invasive species. They're just so darn handy against hound attacks! As for being a bastard... I fully admit to bribing them with flint to fight each other to the death, and collecting their rocky remains and turning their fleshy insides into lobster jerky. Does that make me a bad person?

I also like Glommer ^_^ he'll have to be my second fav.

Chester is really helpful for carrying/storing stuff.

Catcoons are a good source of meat, especially if you play Wigfrid. She can kill them in about 2-3 hits.

I do agree that Voltgoats are funny when they sleep :D

Spiders are only cute when they're sleep imo.

Ice hounds... they'er just so cool O__O

  • Bearger too... he has a lot of useful applications when you're a nomad... put a berry near a cluster of rocks or trees and he'll just bulldoze right through them...
  • Goose/Goose of course because
    • For the Glory of Spring - EFS of Spring
    • Feathers!! Weapons!! Tools!!
    • Adorable!!

OK, am I being trolled?! XD I edited my post about the Goose/Goose thing... I wanted it to be "Goose-Goose" but even the "reason for edit is being changed to Goose-Goose where I wanted it to be ass "Goose-Goose" XD

I'm not even mad that's amazing XD

XD OMG everytime I write Goose and Goose in a certain way, they become morphed into a repetition...!! XD OMG XD

XD ok, try typing the word "Goose" - the mamal, and then, after that, write the word "Goose", the bird and see what happens XD I'm not even mad that's amazing!! XD

I have a soft spot for Krampus because of all the stuff he had to go though in early development.  But besides that I love the tall bird because it's creepy and silly at the same time. Like it's a giant eye yet its got tiny little itty bitty legs. I hear they have tiny little wings that the flap really fast to support their weight.

I probably say Moleworms. They might not look like much but they are one of the most usefull Meatsources in the game. Just make your camp near some Burrows and drop a piece of Rock on the ground and then continue to slay all the worms that come for it to get all the Morsel you need. Even better in Winter because i tend to throw my Thermalstone next to my firepit and they actually go after that thing to. Even then they also can be used as a Mineralbackpack. Just throw one in a Rockbiome lwt him collect most Minerals and dig up bis Burrow every now amd then to Collect what he got.

Also i find it bloody hilarious how they also go after Gunpowder and kill themself with it.

So yup.

I also like beefalos cus they are adorable and fat.

And just a min ago,I realised that beefalos can be tamed too.

And another idea for pets:make a taming system like giving food or knocking out or petting it would be so cool.

Doydoy Eggs from what i saw work a tad different in that you need to make a Doydoy Nest to hatch them.

Can't say much more haven't been able to breed Doydoys yet but i heard it's quite lucrative in terms of Food.

...Guess I shouldn't talk about the webber run where I killed an entire pack of ballphins, huh? To be fair they attacked first, and i was swimming in lame fish morsels after that.

My favorite creature is either mosslings(VISUALLY. They're fluffy lil' chicks :D), BOOF, or Chester. Doydoy babies and Smolbirbs too.

And you can hatch one,by the way there isn't many pets in the game.

I agree. Klei should make more tameable/adoptable pets, excluding pigmen, bunnymen and prime apes.

Well, there is the "Extra Adorable Lavae" pet that you can get in DST... but yeah, DST <.< Very useful, very adorable, but is high maintenance... like my college girlfriend <__<

Moleworms, the most compelx mob in the game:

  • I have a moleworm turf storage facility on my map made up on 18 different pens. Literally stores all my turf from base building in my world into one neat spot. All the chests the turf would take up would be insane and capable of being able to be burnt or lost.
  • Moleworms burrows are safer than chests so I keep the majority of my rare gems and thulecite in burrows.
  • Throw a couple down next to your pig king and they'll pick up all the gold for you. Dig up their burrows once a year and you can drop off all your gold to your slurtles.
  • Threw down some moleworms, burnt down a hole forest, chopped trees once, and dug up turf. Moleworms gather all the charcoal and turf. Dig up burrows when finished. The quickest way to clear out and clean up a biome.
  • Can be abused for infinite minerals, which is especially helpful in SW.
  • Can be used to world hop with more items.
  • Can be used to clip yourself / other mobs out of bounds.
  • Moleworm sprinting.
  • Can be used in conjunction with a lureplant to provide more morsels than Wicker could with a lureplant + birds of the world spamming or more meat than a fire farm.
  • An overall better alternative to rabbits for morsels / meatballs early game considering you can move them next to your kitchen.
  • Can be used as a gunpowder fuse.

Lureplants are second up:

  • Can be used to mass gather resource
  • Can be used in place of flingomatics for Summer. Haven't used a flingomatic in my Summer base for 1k+ days execept for flingos in the middle of my gauntlet due to fire hounds.
  • Can be used to deal with hounds or bats around a sinkhole in.
  • Can be used to make infinite light spots in combination with smouldering.
  • Can also be used to clip yourself / other mobs out of bounds.
  • Can be used in conjunction with Wicker's birds of the world to mass farm morsels + bird feathers (except for azure in RoG, Wickerbottom got a buff in SW because of this).
  • Can be used in conjunction with frogs to make a leafy meat farm that will produce at least 20 leafy meat per bulb planted.
  • Eyeplant can be used as a garbage can for items you don't want and cant get rid of through other means like burning (stingers for example.)
  • Eyeplant can be telestaffed and become disconnected from the lureplant. Will nip at things but not eat their contents. I swear I'll find more uses for this.

Honorable mentions:

Mosslings are pretty neat considering you can make an overcharge station for WX, use them to grow mushrooms after picking them, or to summon rain in Summer to prevent smouldering. Weather pains and luxury fans are both the bees knees.

Slurtles since their drops are pretty damn useful; slime is the best late game light source, shelmets are a great alternative when you don't want to waste a crown, and shells are an overall better bush hat for gauntlets or the nightmare cycle.

Goats for milk and sweet sweet ice cream, three large meat, weather pains, and morning stars.
