For Willow, maybe she doesn't have to take up an inventory spot for the lighter (though I think a magical match seems more appealing). It can be that when she's holding nothing, she takes out the lighter/match.

my thoughts exactly.

Adding to that, she can ignite any flammable with a right click regardless of what she's holding; but to use the light radius provided by the lighter/match she needs to have nothing on her hand. And when she's not holding anything, left click becomes ignite, right click is the standard action.*In this way, not only she randomly sets things ablaze in low sanity, the player can actually accidentally set their own base on fire (And Willow would be like "YAY FIRE!!"). ;)Willow's new perk: Player can accidentally set base on fire.

Added left click as ignite when holding nothing

Oh yeah, because people complain about Wilson: Make beardlings spawn as late as the sanity monsters get agressive. That way you would have to risk a little bit to get the beard hair as other characters.

or we just don't listen to unwarranted complaining :D

Think most people will just hunt rabbits for beard, koalefant for trunk, and make a heatstone while not looking like a caveman....Hmm, now I think of it, I don't ever intentionally dab into insanity unless I need to pass Obselik. Anyone feels the same? Edited by Jac

Yeah, now that you mention it, there is no reason for Wilson to go crazy in sandbox. (though I do admit that have needed to murder beardlings as him because I die so much :apathy:)

You don't really need to go loony as the others much either, I cant think of any other reason besides bearlings or the aforementioned obelisk.

I cant think of anything that you need to go crazy for other then those 2 things. (unless you're trying to get nightmare fuel from your hallucinations, but again the beardlings can take care of that without the danger)

It would be cool to see more things like that you have to go crazy for.

I do think Wickerbottom should have more crafting-related perks, but something else to make her interesting and worthwhile as well. Keep in mind that her current perk will be even more useful to less skilled players if and when the "Mad Science Machine" Kevin once mentioned makes it into the game. Wouldn't it be funny if she could "shush" enemies? Like, every so often she'd scold them and they'd either go through a quick stun animation (would need a decent recharge to not make her OP), or would reduce their attack damage. Something like the next x attacks reduced by y% damage? Maybe it could be slightly randomized, like "The next 1-4 attacks are reduced by 20-40%"?

Positives:

[*]Can eat spoiled food with no penalty (as before)

[*]Can eat gears to boost max stats (Hunger 100 -> 200, Health 100 -> 400, Sanity 100 -> 300). It takes 15 gears to fully upgrade yourself (they carry over between teleportates). (specific numbers subject to change, of course!)

Negatives:

[*]Sparks in the rain, causing damage (and flashes of light)

Lightning:

[*]If you are not near a lightning rod, and you are not using an umbrella, any lightning that happens will hit you and cause a SYSTEM OVERLOAD

[*]Lighting that hits you will catch your surroundings on fire.

[*]Lighting strikes heal you, and hurt your sanity

[*]While the overload lasts, you will glow in the dark, and run faster

[*]Overload currently lasts 4-8 minutes per lighting strike (again, pending tuning)

why would I eat non-renewable resources?

Wilson might seem a little dull now, but not necessarily because his perks are bad (in fact, I think his perks are pretty good, though they do become a bit less good once you're experienced in dealing with insanity's threats), but because he's the only character (so far) that's not getting anything new. However, I'm not sure what could be done to freshen up Wilson's perks without effecting the balance too much.

You should look into Wickerbottom. She is very OP what with not needing a Shadow Manipulator to make the best items. Maybe decrease health/hunger?

But then what?Once she builds a alchemy machine her perk just ends. It's isn't that hard to get the resources necessary for a Shadow Manipulator (IMO) and she has no special ability besides her Tier 1 science.Everyone else (asides from Wes and Wolfgang at the moment) has their own unique ability that lasts forever which as Wickerbottoms can last to about 20 days max.If anything she needs a buff.

I really think that's all it is :S

I may be misreading what you said, but it sounds like you believe that Wickerbottom's effect doesn't stack with science machines, it does btw. Frankly atm she is far more easy mode because you don't need to fall into insanity to make the 4th tier of science items, it's not hard to collect 10 nightmare fuel, but it does take a while, and time is just as precious a commodity as food or materials, ontop of that you need to either luck out digging up a blue and red gem from a grave, kill one of the bishops hiding by the teleportato, or luck out that the red & blue gems drop and don't break while in a cave, not to mention you have to have the patience for a Treegaurd to spawn, which isn't the worst thing to wait for, but sometimes you could be at day 100+ in the middle of the night and treegaurds won't spawn, so there is a fair amount of luck involved which gets removed when you can do everything with an alchemy engine. She needs a unique buff (like Wilsons beard or Wes' balloons) that has more lasting use, but she also needs some debuffing to compensate for the swift science progression she has.

Well I'm sure at least a couple people have seen my rather dogmatic suggestion for a buff for Wendy:Allow Abgail to see and fight her hallucinations as well, as a play on the empathic twins tropea lot of people've also been saying that she shouldn't lose sanity from digging graves and i agree with that, but for a nerf...with her grim outlook, perhaps she has a constant small sanity drain? I'm not totally certain if that's quite in characterI'd imagine wendy should specialize in the ally playstyle thoughwhat could one do for negative quirks that relate to her flavor as of now? Perhaps she's a terrible farmer and has difficulty raising smallbird eggs as she focuses too much on death to properly care for life? Also Abigail should go into caves if it's considered permanight I think. She's powerful but wouldn't break the caves of all palcesSo something like:Postives->Has allied ghost (Abigail) at night at least once every three days>Abigail can see and attack hallucinations unlike any other mob in the game>No sanity loss from gravediggingNegatives->Growing veggies, hatching tallbird eggs, productivity of beebox is slower>Permanent -3/min sanity drain? >Probably her max sanity should be lower
