What items do you think are underappreciated?

What items do you think are underappreciated? What do you like/appreciate about said item?

For me it's the piggyback.

Most people see it that it has a 10% speed penalty and refuse to wear it over a backpack.

I see it a fireproof backpack that has 2 less slots than a Krampus Sack for just a 10% speed penatly. More often than not, the speed debuff is made up for if with a Walking Cane and isn't noticeable in combat when wearing body armor.

Rainometer, it's really convenient for planning around a boss fight with volt goat jelly or Morning Star.

I am not sure if this one is actually underappreciated but Spectackler Box is awesome for hoarder like me to storing tons and tons of rot that just starts piling up after a bit.

I use the Piggyback basically asap.
Cookie Cutter Helmet? It has more HP than a foodball helmet, when worn with body armor it is really nice.
Honey Poultice. Kind of a staple as a Wormwood main but considering how easy it is to amass I am surprised I only see people talk about Pierogies.
Wobster Bisque - Kind of similar to Honey Poultice, 60 hp for 1 wobster (free if you base next to a den), 1 ice (free after first winter), and 2 twigs. Insane cheap healing.
Rain Hat and Rain Coat - Lighting protection and insane water resistance, who needs the Eyebrella?
Boomerang - I pretty much always have one on me now just so I can aggro far away mobs with ease.
Cat Cap - It is under appreciated because it isn't useful. Just buff it. I want to use it since the Catcoons keep killing themselves in the swamp :(

I'm still trying to like the Pick/Axe but it is hard.

I mean I get why people dont consider Piggyback when its early game and exploration phase, right? I was one of those players for a long time.  U want be as fast as u can, but thats the thing its such a good item when u negate the minus 10 with a beefalo

U can be fast AND carry a lot, both things needeed in the early days

Piggyback + beef changed my life

I was a hater of the Pick/Axe before the buff, but now i'm completely in love with this one

The Extra-adorable lavae can be used as a free campfire to cook, reheat a cold thermal stone in winter or as an emergency light anywhere you want as long as you have ash or charcoal on hand or from burning things. Also if you bundlewrap it's tooth it will dissapear while it is wrapped so it doesn't accidentaly burn thing.

Not so much the items themselves, but their niche/hidden uses.
I vastly find the Dark Sword and Night Light to go under appreciated for their ability to scare Gestalts.
You can even line a boat with Dark Swords to make a Gestalt proof boat during those horrid, horrid Moonstorm nights.
(Despite it seemingly making since, this only applies to the Sword when dropped and the Nightlight. Other shadow items don't count, such as Wandas watch and Night Armor.)
