I think it's best for such a poll to exist after a week from now when most players have gotten accustomed to the new crafting ui. In fact, us Xbox players haven't even played the update yet (it will be released sometime today I'm pretty sure).

In general though, the update seems pretty great.

i instandly use a mod to have old taps back, still its in a box instead of a line, but at least the same item is not in 5 differend taps now, and my memorizing everything is still saved, and thats good so, i mean, do you know how difficulty for an asperger autist like me to forget something like that? i still remember some 3d games level layouts, for games i have not played for so long or watched someone else do it, i cant just forget

You for real? That explains a lot and makes me actually feel bad for you. :blue:

it mostly means that my brain works differendly then most other people, and sometimes i call it a blessing and a curse at the same time, for many differend reasons

Indifferent to mildly annoyed. Crafting UI is a miss for me and my play-style, it doesn't even close without click-input on header, a mess of filters with too many duplicates, clicking galore, bulky (rectangle occupying almost 1/2 of my 4:3 monitor on smallest size) and whatnot. Update full of bugs, now with CTRL+F just stopping from the thin blue during fights; crashes upon crashes. Good Wolfgang re-rework. Ok for AG fight "refurbishment" and its subsequent loot. "Meh" change to Hound Waves. Indifferent to some recipes re-balances. Nice Gothic Belongings skins, maybe will weave them in via Spools with time. Sadly I've stopped caring even about the "Twitch leeching" skin(s). Probably is time to move on from this game, boredom already was setting in - the persistent ignoring of game-breaking bugs (CURL Error, "???" faulty ping estimation, etc) and now this update was solely "the cherry on top".

I am really pleased. Likely the best QOL so far.

* steam cloud saves

* craft from chests

* AG rework

* wolfgang tweaks

* crafting recipe changes

* another great skin set

* refresh to crafting

* no more 2 hours of fishing to get desert goggles

Yeah for sure Klei really did a good job with this, best update since terraria crossover. I know some people don't like the new crafting but i think the majority don't like it because it's new, not because it's worse. My only gripe with the new crafting is I think the art is kinda ugly, dispite it functioning much better than the old one. Oh, and the search bar still not really working with any mods.

I also noticed that characters have their unique idle animation for side and back view. Little things like that are nice to see. I hope devs look at posts so they know that we notice those details, both small and big.

I thought they always did but now I'm not sure, I think I'm going insane.

They usually come with either the rework or release, the latter happening to more recent characters.

I know they had unique idle animations, I'm talking about side and back views for said animations. I don't recall ever seeing Wormwood do his little butterfly hand flap on side view or back view.

New crafting UI is more good than bad. Search function is great, so is being able to pin recipes. Only thing I don't really like about it is that the old UI closed itself automatically if you move your mouse away, but I found out that I can press the 'c' key pretty quickly and that's almost as good.

Had a run-in with a Varglet soon after booting up my world today. It seemed easier than the typical day 100+ hound wave but that was most likely because it got distracted by some bees. Less frequency between waves is nice.

Fought the Ancient Guardian for the first time a few days before the update went live just to experience it firsthand. It... got cheesed into a corner and ranged to death. Good job. Sadly this means that I'll have to fight the Fuelweaver for the first time ever or start a new world in order to try the new Ancient Guardian and tbh I am maybe a little bit of a frighten.

Loading tips are fun and neat but I'm going to lose my mind trying to figure out who each "W" is for these tips.

Who is Wolfgang?

Nah, Varglets do make hound waves easier, cause the game condenses 5 hounds into a single Varglet, so you end up with half the hounds you would normally get. Also, two hits from the ice staff will freeze the Varglet before it can summon any extra adds, so you can fight off the initial hounds with much more ease.

i was sceptical when i we got the hint "crafting ui" throwed in idr which announcement because i didnt want a crafting ui change over other important changes but it result in a huge qol update instead of just a crafting ui one

i love the recipe changes for turf, the buff to the seed pack, all the changes to the oasis lake (we just needed +5 years), the malbatross peak durability (i wished that was also applied to the strident trident) and other minor changes

i like the ag refresh, not my cup of tea but waaay better and funnier than the previous fight, the changes to the loot is the best of the refresh. Now is something that can be enjoyned instead of praying to finish it quickly, maybe now is to short but wont complain when we have been suffering the other version for years

the wolfgang changes are welcome even if i dont enjoy the pointless extra passive mightiness lost when the mightiness lost on hit was waaay more engaging than just "pump evey few minute" (actually way more than pre qol update...) so wolf is exactly the same just that in exchange of only having to pump every many minutes now has better early (better first ~10 days) and not having to worry to pump during ruins and boss fights but all the time you are not in these 3 scenarios... not that good is just more tedious and not engaging at all

the hound wave... i like the change of the ammount of waves per year but i enjoyed the previous difficulty, atleast i like the varglet design and is something refreshing... not my favourite change. I dont like the change to worm waves... now i will need to farm glowberries every FW reset or change the settings (thing that could have be done by the people who wanted less waves...) but a minor thing i guess

the crafting menu resulted in something very confortable, im still needing to get used to find certain not so crafted items but with the filters getting used to the general idea is very easy for how intuitive it is, you just need to know the use of the item you are looking for, nothing comparable to the old one. I didnt know how much scrolling i did until i tried it. There are things to improve like how messy is the structures tab and the possibility of adding confy stuff like hot keys for pinned recipes.

biased people gonna bias

It feels slower than before, mainly due to having to open the menu then click on the tab you want instead of just clicking the tab, but also because if you have a pre crafted item, you have to click twice instead of just once in order to place said pre crafted item. A change I wish I had thought of back in beta was if you clicked an ingredient in another items recipe you'd be allowed to craft said ingredient (ex: i want to make alchemy engine and need doodad, so i click on the doodad and the game crafts a doodad assuming i have the resources to do so)

They said they'll be adding this in the next few weeks.
