Wolfgang's Character Refresh is Coming Next Week!

Walter’s speed is just for exploration. Same goes for Woodie’s goose. Utility wise the most versatile speed is the one for combat which both of them lack. Only wormwood and charged WX have that. 
I feel making Wolfgang be still the strongest and fastest doesn’t add to his character and keeps him being hated by most people, but maybe having a smaller speed buff, enough to make a difference but not enough to be the fastest in the long run, would work better in the global looks and feels.

i'd compromise with 1.15 and .85 but also give the perk of chopping and mining adding to mightyness

I don't get it why are people talking about being the best and stuff. He is mainly a SOLO BOSS BEATING character and that's still what he is. Why shouldn't the character that has solo oriented perks not be strong? What are the other characters that benefit from teamwork in some way or another (or the other way arround) to gain from Wolfgang loosing speed? I understand wanting him not to be OP so that he is more fun (difficulty done right is more fun, coming from a Dark Souls diehard fan), but just to take speed away cuz wah-waah-waaah Wolgang too strong is kinda dumb.

Stepping out of the box a bit: What if he can use his gym to train beefalos to gain a speed boost for like a day? I also suggested that he should train other characters for a small damage boost too.

The gym as it is now it's really not fun to play and he has no other upside to make him playable. He will be like how Wurt is to me, too much trouble to get the good things, might as well play another character. Or use a mod to make him playable again.

Yes, i would love any teamwork perks(less sanity loss while with friends is just a joke, srsly). I don't need a boss-eating monster (even tho that's all he is right now). Make him more interesting, bcz right now he is almost the same, but more bland.

He should be able to pick up and yeet the beefalo at enemies

He’s still the best. I think the people complaining the most are speedrunners. For defeating most bosses going with cane and Magi and gembell puts Wolfgang still in a much better position than Wanda.

Problem is they want to have all that power in 4 minutes which, for most of the player base it’s boring. I’m suggesting give him “some” of his speed back, but make him still need to work his way to accomplish that other than how the old Wolfgang was: “collect carrots, kill stuff, win game”

After reading a few of these posts I feel like people have been comparing reworked wolfgang to his former self instead of other survivors and I don't think that's fair.

Like, put the current Wolfgang side by side with Willow or Woodie... or Wurt.

After playing around with him for a while I can say that he feels fine
Not needing to chug down food to keep my modifier is great
I do wish the dumbells had a bigger aoe and dmg tho, increasing their durability lost while working out in order to increase the amount of mightyness gained per lift would be pretty nice too.

Not to be mean, but if they don't adjust some things regarding his only perk Mightiness and how boring it is right now, i'll be waiting for the old Wolfgang mod too, sadly. I ain't looking at the screen for 1 minute while he does an animation when i can play the damn game to get food and get the same results out of it (even a bit better actually). Give him teamwork stuff, or make mightiness more uselfull other than tank and holf F on bosses. :'(

Ok, let's put them side by side then.
Willow- has a tank that helps her in combat while insane
Woodie- exploration/fighting/resource gathering forms.
Wurt- give kind food = better stats + strong allies.

and now Wolfgang - watch an animation for minutes every session to be able to hold F on mobs and not die. 

Yeah, doesn't seem that fun now does it?

And all of those characters have playstyles.

Willow plays around with her sanity to summon Bernie.

Woodie plays around his transformations depending on the situation he needs.

Wurt plays around building an army to command.

 

Wolfgang plays a gym minigame. 

Klei gave him a minigame rather than a new unique playstyle.

Could we also make that when he's wearing a Marble Suit or Piggyback he loses Might slower?

I still think he has to lose it when wearing those items but since they are heavy making wearing them decrease the rate in which Might drop could be a nice touch and incentive to craft those items early.

Other than that I love the refresh so far.

He's not much different that Willow and that's a good thing. While the gym is inconvenient, so is getting materials for more Bernies and sewing kits. Willow is better with mobs, and Wolfgang is better at bosses, but they are mostly identical. Balance.

Wolfgang is better than Wurt early game, it takes a long time for Wurt to build her Merm army, and she's saddled with the inconvenience of feeding the baby king and her veggie only diet, while Wolfgang keeps his cozy Wilson life. It makes sense that eventually she would grow to surpass him.

then how would old Wolfgang be defined? "chug food to be strong chug food to keep strong press f and not die"
He really isn't that different from who he was
Mighty form now takes longer to obtain while also taking longer to leave which imo feels much better since Wolf doesnt have to make a snack break every 10 seconds to ensure his multiplier is high since its no longer linear.

Well you are just jumping over the problem here. It's one thing to gather resources A.K.A. play the damn game or just watch an animation unfold. That is just simply boring, no way arround it.

  • Willow's Wendy's pipspook mini-game is a turn-off for me, similar to how new Wolfgang's mini-game is a turn-off.
  • Having to run back to camp to feed the merm king is a turn-off, similar to how having to go back to the gym is a turn-off.
  • I haven't played Woodie much, his transformations are too much of a hassle for me... similar to how new Wolfgang's forms are too much of a hassle for me

Wait, what? I thought years ago Toros already had like 3000 hours on the game, the most as Wolfgang and he was very well experienced. It's not that?

If you get bored easily, maybe it's time to quit the game. No one's stopping you. Or maybe create a mod character with all the perfect stats and perks, because no one really cares how you play. There's no ranking of players in this game. Who cares if you beat all the bosses really really fast? At some point everyone's gonna beat them all anyway.

  • Quando o poderoso Wolfgang pode carregar itens pesados mais rápido
  • Não perde a força ao carregar objetos pesados
  • Wolfgang é um remador mais eficiente quando poderoso
  • Sua velocidade não muda mais com suas formas
  • A fome e a saúde de Wolfgang estão agora em no máximo 200, independentemente de sua forma
  • Wolfgang agora recebe 25% de penalidade de sanidade nas trevas e nas criaturas das sombras, mas se ele estiver ao alcance de outros sobreviventes, essa penalidade cai para 10%
  • Causa mais dano quando poderoso e menos quando Wimpy. Também sofre dano extra na forma Wimpy
  • Wolfgang pode construir uma estrutura de estação de ginásio, o que lhe permite treinar e aumentar seu poder
    • Os jogadores precisam se envolver em um minijogo na academia e a quantidade de poder adquirida depende de quão bem eles se saem nisso
    • Os jogadores podem carregar o ginásio com diferentes itens pesados para alterar sua eficácia
    • Consome fome enquanto Wolfgang faz exercícios
  • Wolfgang pode criar um item de haltere consumível para restaurar seu poder em movimento. Não consome fome e pode ser usado como arma

É claro que com a atualização do personagem teremos um novo curta animado, Winter's Feast retorna e também teremos um novo item Twitch, a Topsy-Turvy Treehouse e adicionando um monte de skins lançadas anteriormente para Klei Rewards.

Fiquei triste com o nerf, não tenho ngm pra jogar comigo e ainda jogo no ps4, com o nerf vai ficar difícil de jogar.

Hell at this point: Klei should just release a “Classic Mode” so people can play characters as they were Before & After their reworks.. then maybe everyone could shut up and be happy.

You guys constant bickering isn’t helping Klei come up with better ideas for this rework:

I’ve already addressed my issues with it

1-Being Mighty is still BORING & all about fighting bosses..

2- No cool team craftables, structures or Abilities (they tried with the shadow thing but when I see ideas like Allow other players to climb on his Gym to speed up his work out- The sanity thing just seems “Meh” for the guy who finishes fights faster anyway..)

3- They made being Wimpy even more difficult then it already was & there’s no benefit to being Wimpy besides becoming WES.. If your wanting newer players to be able to pick up and enjoy Wolfgang then I would be crazy enough to even suggest removing Puny form from the game altogether so he only ever has a Normal & Mighty formation.

(this also makes sense from a LORE point of view because Wolfgang has been in the constant since the original Dont Starve and like with Wendy, and Woodie have learned new things, Wolfgang can learn to avoid being a Puny runt man..)

Instead of your constant complaining and arguing how about instead come up with the cool ideas in your heads that could improve Wolfgang?

Stop being so.. hateful toward one another & work together to get something Great!

Ultimately: Klei still has an overall vision for who these characters are and what they can do.. so anything you can possibly suggest- still has to fit within that vision to be officially added to the game.
