Szczuku
I think the meteorite myth comes from the fact that the showers move. I've seen it multiple times in my long-lasting worlds: sometimes they shower deep in the mosaic, sometimes in the middle of their field and sometimes out in the neighbouring grassland. For some reason the actual meteorite field is much bigger than the turf in the biome indicates. In fact, their range often reaches to the neighbouring biomes. Nope, if a den is destroyed it will be gone forever like almost every other resource of the game so take care if you wanna keep them for long. People usually missunderstood the catcoon respawn mechanic added in DST, in DS if you killed all the catcoons from a den it will change the sprite to show that the den is empty meaning that it wont respawn more catcoons ever again, this was change in dst where, when the den gets empty it will stay with that sprite for many days but after a while it will start producing more catcoons and recovering their original sprite. they do respawn in dst, in regular ds rog shipwreck and hamllet they are gone forever unless you reset the world Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/134963-dont-starve-myths/page/3/#findComment-1510161 Share on other sites

HowlVoid
I also remember seeing someone's fairy circle of red mushrooms turned blue via ghosts. One was permanently missing because it burned down. I think that would trigger me so much, so it convinced me to never change the color of fairy circles. Mike23Ua
44 minutes ago, GrMcGillacactus said: I was going to say that me being good at the game was a myth, but nobody ever believed that. Honestly it depends entirely on what YOUR goals are with the game, your playing a Sandbox game.. there are no rules: There’s no right or wrong way to play.. there’s not one singular “thing” you have to absolutely do, you can do Whatever you want, WHENEVER you Want.. With DS single-player there was an overall goal for Adventures mode: build the wooden thing in each chapter, progress to the next chapter, beat the game. With DST we don’t have an adventures mode yet… you don’t have to really do anything, Klei started adding “mission structure” in the return of them updates (Aka do stuff for Pearl, build her house, kill crab king, get pearls Pearl take it back to her, find all the lunar altars, activate Moonstorm, see whatever questionable activities Wagstaff is up to, kill celestial champion) But unlike DS Solo where progressing through each chapter was the only goal- you can do all the above whenever your ready to do it, and then once you do it: There’s no further point to it (there may be in future updates but for now it’s unfinished.) Now that you can exit the game at any point of time and turn certain things on/off/more/less at your own free will- You have EVEN MORE Control over what you do in the game. You can turn back on Year of the Carrat and spend all your time racing a Carrat around on custom built racetracks, you can turn OFF all the giants and play DS as if it were Pre-RoG content.. you can toggle On Hallowed Nights and fill your world with Totally Normal Trees and Mad Science potions, you can start the game with Summer Wildfires and Meteor showers ON and then later get annoyed with them destroying the base your trying to build and toggle them OFF, then you can get bored of building that Mega Base and turn them back ON again and set them to happen more to watch it all be destroyed. I don’t think people fully realize the depth of just how much you can custom tailor your experience with this game- there’s no “goal” there’s no “one absolute way of playing & all other ways are invalidated” Unless your the HOST of a world, people can play how they want, do what they want, when they want.. if your the HOST however- you have some degree of control over what people can and can’t do (for example you can toggle Mini Glaciers off completely and set the world to Infinite Summer and people won’t be able to build Iceflingo Machines to prevent that world from going up in a blazing inferno) you can set the world to lights out mode and force people to play in permanent darkness. Stop telling yourself that your “BAD” at a game you can play anyway you want, HOW you Want and pretty much Any Way that you want.. This TL:DR post just cracked the biggest Myth of them all- That DST only has one Meta way of playing & all other ways are wrong. After writing a good 10,000 lines of quotes or so for mods, my guess would be that the effort needed to check whether each item is in the game when you're writing the quote can be more work than just doing it. It's a lot easier to remember how far you were if you write something for every line, and a few extra lines from singleplayer content is no big loss, especially when there are plenty of mods that add singleplayer things to dst. I remember a ton of people believing it back in the day, however how did it even come to exist? Presumably because the area that meteors can fall in is invisible, and the places that they end up falling is random. One storm "seems" to end at a certain location, then the next one by pure coincidence drops meteors outside of what was incorrectly believed to be the edge. For that the wormwood and wurt perk post launch about being inmune to wetness was incomplete, klei only make them inmune to self wetness but forgot to add resistance for the inventory aswell Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/134963-dont-starve-myths/page/3/#findComment-1510641 Share on other sites
