Dollmaker
I guess im more of a medium to small base person, i just cant get around how people make those massive bases that are like some city ._.
Mike23Ua
Base? What base? No seriously what base? Everything you could ever possibly need in this game can be crammed onto a single boat platform.. Now if your just want to build PRETTY then medium size is good, City is Overkill/too much time on your hands.. And Small- well Read the above boat platform comment. Notecja
my biggest base was on two biomes. And once I had 7 bases in one world because I was making small bases in every nice corner. For now I am more-less medium
ArubaroBeefalo
At this point what makes me keep playing the game (i have experience most of the content with most of the characters) is base building so i go for the big ones
Echsrick
propably something between small and medium
Baark0
If it doesn't take up an entire biome, it's not big enough
TemporaryMan
Medium central hub (look, I like to have at least 24 drying racks, okay?), small satellite bases at points of interest, eventually a road network to link them together. And a creeping suspicion that despite appearances, it's just a couple side projects short of a megabase.
Captain_Rage
Extra extra medium.
Sir Noel
I just kinda start at a central location with all my necessities and begin expanding as I go on, but typically my base will stay pretty medium until I go out of my way to expand into other biomes and such. Frosty_Mentos
Big base. Always fun to be building cities.
xhyom
I normally do 5x5 bases, but just for the aesthetics, because i actually just use 1x5 of it

Cr4zyFl4mes
Do you count pig farms, spider farms, honey farms etc to your base? If so i usually use up a single whole biome.
Monkey Cups
7x7 is usually the biggest I ever make a base with the exception of if I'm on single player making a Hamlet pig city. I'd consider that small compared to what I see from other people.
Yuuko
I usually build about what I can fit in one flingo range. I've built some that span a few screens worth before, but they weren't very cohesive bases. Just an area for grass / twig farms, meat racks, etc that would be put further away from the crafting stations.
AlternateMew
If it's bigger than 3 screens then it's huge and I probably did not build it. My bases fit in about 2 full campfire ranges at their biggest. Normally, 1 campfire is enough.
SecretPizzaMan
First question, if you cover the oasis in cobblestone, does it count as your base? As long as it has 1 crockpot, 1 alchemy engine and 1 chest. I prefer extra extra large in terms of base size.
Masked Koopa
I like creating cities for pigs/merms to live in so that having a bunch of different farms and penned animals feels more natural. It feels strangely reassuring to have merm guards with nox helms wandering around each entrance to your base as you enter it.
NightfallsCurse
What can I say, some longterm worlds I like to make a city (why am I saying city and not megabase?). I get carried away and either fill the world or majority of the biomes.
Horsheen
I've never been one for megabasing to be honest, a decently sized place where I can fit everything I need will do me just fine
Wendy C.
I find the Graveyard, and I build my camp there. Only the essentials. Until eventually my base is destroyed by a meteor because the graveyard almost 100% of the time eventually gets consumed by the ever-expanding-radius of the Meteor Field, and I'm forced to base-camp at either the Pig King or in the Oasis. I hate the Meteor Field. Please, please make the Developer Graveyard setpiece spawn more often. PLEASE. Or even Maxwell's Graveyard. Any of the setpiece-cemeteries are better than the real one, because the real one is borderline always inside of a meteor field. PLEASE CHANGE THIS, KLEI, I BEG OF YOU.
