Can we talk about the fact that the reason why Klaus is so hostile to you, is because the fact that you attempted to steal from his stash using deer antlers as a key? It pretty much means the survivors are the wrong ones in this situation and Klaus was just rightfully trying to protect his stuff similar to a player and a splumonkey.

My head cannon has always been that those items were things which he sent his krampus minions to steal from survivors.

Krampus steals from survivors -> delivers to Klaus -> Klaus bundles 'em up -> other survivors steal from the loot stash.

I've always enjoyed thinking of each bundle as loot from a different group of survivors. Meaning 3/4ths of the groups of survivors are barely surviving with nothing of real value (coal, gold, and life giving amulets), while the last group is thriving and slaying big bosses (the last bundling wrap filled with boss loot).

A rather accurate breakdown of DST players, don't ya' think?

My man Klaus out here canonically killing Bee Queen for the bundling wrap blueprint.

I think the same could be said for pretty much every optional boss fight in the game: the Survivors are in the wrong if they're fighting that boss. They try to steal from Klaus, repeatedly whack the completely peaceful Bee Queen with a hammer, purposely wake up the quietly sleeping Toadstool, harass the Malbatross which is just out fishing, intrude into the deepest part of the Ruins to bother the Ancient Guardian in its own home, and go to an insane amount of trouble--collecting fossils, building statues, summoning hostile shadow chess pieces in order to get the Shadow Atrium--all to force a long-dead being from a bygone era back to life against its will, which, understandably, makes it very unhappy.

The Giants tend to attack the Survivors first, though, so I think the Survivors are well within their rights to fight back against them.

I don't think Klaus is that bad of a demon,he could just become 3x times bigger and completly terminate us when we start attacking him if he wanted to. Also it seems that he actually cares about his deer due to the fact that he gets enraged when they get killed or get too far away from him,so they're more like pets than slaves or minions.

Yeah, I thought about this, but is it an actual mutual relationship between them. Cause there's also the potential they could possibly be hypnotized by Klaus,(the way they perfectly stay side by side between klaus) speaking of klaus in a little off topic, Could klaus possibly defeat another raid boss such as toadstool or beequeen?

I think he can kill both, I recall putting him against the BQ and I think he won, without deer.
Not sure about Toadstool, but in theory, he'd win as he doesn't do much direct damage.

If you don't assist Klaus, then Toad should be capable of defeating Klaus: Toadstool will become ~7-8 times tankier than Klaus, every summoned spore cloud deals 20 dps, and the Boomshrooms will deal about 1,000 damage per salve.

Misery on the other hand becomes only ~300 times tankier than Klaus.

Jesus! Now I wish I could somehow bring him in the caves to fight toadstool! He sounds like a really useful cheap way to fight bosses when enraged!

I mean, that could actually be the truth, Klaus has ALOT of life giving amulets, he even has one tucked under his chain and locks! So he probably either uses it as a getaway, or he fights alot!

I think the krampus gives a bad image to klaus

I forgot to mention Krampus in my list. Krampus only shows up if the Survivors kill either a whole bunch of moderately innocent/harmless creatures or one exceptionally innocent/harmless creature. If the Survivors are having to deal with Krampus, they were either deliberately trying to summon him by being really naughty on purpose, or they were just that bloodthirsty and malicious that they summoned him by accident. Krampus is just there to try to punish them for their misdeeds and deliver some justice. Krampus is the hero we deserve.

...And Maxwell dresses up as one for Hallowed Nights. Perhaps this is a hint that Maxwell isn't the villain that everyone thought he was, even if he seemed pretty evil at first. Maybe. Might be reading too much into that one...
