The bees will evacuate beforehand and not attack you, but you'll take a bit of fire damage. You can hire several pigs though and then turn one of them into a werepig and tell THEM to kill him though. Their abilities to kite makes it so that you will take a lot of damage before you are able to kill them.Instead, befriend a pig and ask it to kill another. Once one of them have died, kill the other one by yourself (it should be weakened enough to die by one hit) for anything that you would've wanted from the pigs. Pick 40 flowers, find a pig, give him 4 monster meat to turn him into a were-pig and drop the petals in front of him while hes changing. In the morning you can kill the spider nest itself (provided you killed all the spiders that exited) with no guards spawning. This is a relatively safe way to farm silk or kill level 3 lairs if you don't have a lot of pigs.This also works for bee hives. Get a net and capture a bee near a hive. A new bee will spawn. Capture the new bee and repeat till no bees spawn.
