A lightning rod that has been struck by lightning will serve as an infinite light source untill you (save and) quit. Only Deerclops can extinguish THIS light source :D Alright, and gunpowder and hammers aswell...

Lureplants make perfect treeguard distractions. Just make one walk close to an eye plant and it forgets about you entirely. They also aren't bad at defending against hounds in the winter. In summer, though, it's a bad idea because of fire hounds.

If you click a tree/boulder fast your character will chop/mine the tree/boulder quite quickly, it makes it go a lot faster than if you hold space:)

a herd of Beefalo in heat are your best friends for killing the Spider Queen.

Ugh, I was so close to a herd and just let the Spider Queen and Leif thing go off screen. I was scared and ran home. I'm on my furthest day. F THAT noise.

To kill a gobbler easily:Drop berries on the ground and position yourself between the berries and the gobbler. For some reason, the gobbler will prioritize eating the berries over evading you. You should be able to hit it enough to kill it before it reaches the berries; just don't let it get past you.Or is this an exploit? I dunno.

If you're away from your base for a day don't leave your stuff lying around on the ground. Anywhere else on the map it takes a lureplant two days to spawn eyes. Inside your base they spawn overnight and that bastard will steal everything not nailed down.

Also, if ever you hear beefalo dying it is 100% worth it to go look.

You can turn monster meat into your only source of food, build a birdcage with alot of drying racks. Dry as much meat as you can, monster jerky can be fed to a bird producing an egg. Any stale meats can cooked then given to the bird for a fresh egg, as well as eggs about to rot can be cooked and the given back the bird so you never have to worry about the eggs turning rotten

Spider glans are edible on their own. (something I didn't figure out till pretty late.)Pressing the ` key (left of the 1 key) will allow you to DebugSpawn"____" any item into the game, if you have your console set right. Just google how to do this, its pretty easy.Deerclops' are very good at clearing out pesky spider infested areas. If a deerclops spawns during the winter be sure to kite him towards the large spiderballs that sometimes forms, his area of effect attack will usually make short work of them.Planting trees will cause a Treeguard to replant itself.Treeguards can kill deerclops's 1v1, so kiting them into attacking one another is usually a good strategy.

You also feed cooked monster meat (from a regular fire) to birds (in birdcages) and they'll give you eggs for it.That and tallbird eggs don't spoil. So you can always save up a nice emergency cach of non spoilable food by raiding tallbird nests.

U can open a cave early and farm bats they are spiders but with better food drops and they fly also walking cane is half the damage of a spear yet its infinite and has a speed boost
