Any unknown mechanic to share?

Do you have any possible Idea how much time you will waste to “Reliably” dig enough garden digamajig holes around Dragonfly to achieve the same thing Wormwood can by just gathering 30 seeds and then going ham by spamming them in a circle around her?

Let’s do the maths shall we? For starters, 1 Garden Majig isn’t going to be enough to get a reliable Brightshade spawning circle around the Dragonfly. You’d actually need 10 or more probably, not to mention all the waiting you’ll do for the animation of the darned thing ripping apart the dirt, THEN to top that off you’ll need to strategically till in the soil to plant the seeds (removing any debris or other unwanted obstructions in the process with a shovel) Meanwhile

1 digamajig can make 4 plots which can hold 40 seeds, plenty to attract a set of BS plants.  The tough part is coordinating this with any other groups of player planted things.  If you kill dfly you can easily plant them all inside while she's off respawn and get the BS plants in.  Or you can do the plan flute method to re-locate dfly, and put the bs plants somewhere else luring dfly there for the kill.

I think a flingo is good enough to stop the fire damage to the bs plants.

Also idk if you've used them, but Snurtle Shell armor are similar to push hat where they prevent aggro but they also will shake aggro that is on you after a few hits, and do not un-hide you when hit.  The armor takes 100% damage while you're hidden.  They are great tools, I love when I happen by one.

what's even better is that you only need 3 seeds for a herd of brightshades, and due to the way they spawn you probably wont be able to get more than 1 herd at the dragonfly arena

I think if you can beat celestial champion the digamajig costs are probably trivial by comparison.

What if you were only able to beat him by recruiting an eccentric adventurer who demanded every single grass clump as payment?

If you select “Plus” when generating a game world you’ll spawn into the world with 3 chests of helpful stuff right at the doorway, this is Known (I think..) but what might be unknown (or at least isn’t mentioned here..) is that in one of those chests is two dragonfruits, so if you’ve unlocked Wormwoods Lunar affinity to turn dragonfruit into saladmanders, you can spawn into the world with two saladmanders.

It took me three days to read all the 66 pages, but I've learned so much thanks to this thread that I must say a huge THANKS to all its contributors. Seriously, you all rock. THANK YOU.

Anyway, here are my little contributions :

- Something that was very briefly said before and that would need to be repeated : in the Caves, if the floor isn't wet, a Mysterious Plant is always a Lesser Glow Berry. a Wet Mysterious Plant is always a Caveworm.

- An interesting way to get rid of Monster Meat is to combine 2 Monter Meat with 2 Eels/Wobsters/Raw Fish/Fish Steak to get a Surf'N'Turf. It's not optimized Hunger-wise but really is if you are low on Sanity/Health. It is especially interesting in case of prolonged trips in the caves or with Wickerbottom. Important point : do not try to do this in a Portable Crock Pot, unless you desperately want Monster Tartare. I'm saying this just FYI, it totally didn't happened to me multiple times, I swear.

- You might not know it, but it's actually waaaaaaay better to dry your meats instead of cooking them. Sure drying take much more time than cooking, and it requires quite a lot of room to set up your "Drying Station" but, if you want my opinion, the pros vastly overwhelm the cons :

  1. Dried meat will spoil in 20 days instead of 10.
  2. Dried food will always be completely fresh after drying
  3. Dried meat can be used in the Crock Pot, just like regular meat
  4. The Pig King will accept Dried Monster Meat for 1 Gold (No need to bother your bird companion to transform cooked MM into Eggs anymore)
  5. Dried meat is excellent if you need to regain Sanity and Health

- I'm pretty sure it is known, however, it never hurts to say it : Moon Quay Pirates do not leave their houses in winter. Apart from the ones spawning from the portal, you won't be bothered when going there in winter. You should definitely take this opportunity to swiftly DESTROY ALL THEIR HOUSES. Because they deserve it.

- Speaking about Monkeys, I'm pretty sure this is a very well known thing as well, but still worth mentioning again, Splumonkeys and Cave Worms don't like each other. If you don't want to be followed by a legion of ape thieves when you explore the ruins, you definitely should try to lure Cave Worms near their pods. Just wait a little bit until the Cave Worms aggro the monkey and when the great Monkey-Worm War begins, just destroy the Pods. It'll teach them some manners.

- Did you know ? You will get weekly Gift Drops even if the server is on pause. Yeah, you probably already know that... But did you know you can also open the gift while your server is on pause ? You'll need to place your character next to your Science Machine / Alchemy Engine, pause the game, wait for a gift to be dropped and... profit.

And again, thanks to anyone who contributed to this gold mine of information !

Cheers

sending a craft request (particularly with mods) while stunned will completely cancel said stun

this is most noticeable with action requeued mod and its craft last recipe keybind, but there's probably other ways to send craft requests through the console or something

but anyways this can be used to completely invalidate stuff like being frozen, stunned by nightmare werepig, bucked off by beefalo, etc. (honestly it would be really easy to fix on klei's side by adding a check for being stunned when crafting)

Spoiler

im so sorry klei forums but if i dont put my forbidden knowledge somewhere its never gonna be fixed

Does the quick crafting from pinned crafts count for this?

I hope it's not an oversight, I love this perk and would be genuinely disappointed if I had to use gunpowder again

It feels good to give Wolfgang things he can do besides just punch and kill mobs faster. If Planar Damage was added to the game as a way of Nerfing Wolfgang I’m confused why they gave him 5 skill tree points to remove the nerf.

In my opinion he should’ve stayed Nerfed in planar damage, but to make up for it he should’ve gotten fun little side perks, such as being able to yoink stuff from ponds significantly faster while fishing or ocean fishing, it’s not because he’s a skilled fisher.. it’s because he uses pure raw brute force to snatch whatever he’s fishing for right out the water.

This Wouldve translated to: Faster acquiring of dessert goggles among other things but you get the general idea..

The problem with oasis fishing is not that it's slow to pull out the catch because that's 2 mouse button clicks it's that the fish don't bite the hook fast pure force aint going to fix that

It would if he was programmed to hook them faster. ;)

Honestly it was a big miss when they didnt impliment anything for sailing in his tree. He has so many passives for it (Hoist sail faster, raise anchor faster, row faster)  practically the boat character (not that it means much at this point)

I think its pretty clear why they nerfed him, and then taxed him points to restore that power.  They are basically letting you pick your nerf.  Either have more cool muscle powers OR undo the planar nerf.  Its exactly as you say, except the player is given the choice rather than being forced to have planar nerf (which is really dumb anyway) and only have non-combat perks.

The problem is not how quick he hooks them its how quick the lack re-stocks fish.  Once its empty its empty and that's that.  Strength doesn't thematically change this at all.  Ocean fishing could involve his strength perk but not pond fishing.

Woodie and maybe other people also have the ability to tell which ones are depths worms by examining them.

If by "cooking" you mean over a firepit, then it partially resets the spoilage while increasing the max spoilage like drying. It's less pronounced in both regards, but is done basically instantly and basically for free instead of being expensive to setup and taking a long time to dry. They're both good.

I’m not sure how many people know this but wearing Wormwoods Bramble Husk Armor allows you to pluck Cactus & Spiky Bushes without it harming you or using durability on the Husk Suit.

Its possible this could be a bug, (as using any other type of armor while plucking them uses some of the armor durability) but if it’s not a bug it’s a Nifty little feature for Wormwoods husks to have!

It is intended!

On the same note from Wormwood's Bramble Husk, If you have the Husk Upgrade(from his skill tree), you can easily kill Big tentacles (the ones that open the wormholes in the caves) by just equipping the armor and pressing F, as your third attack will always go after the baby tentacles spawn but before they attack.

That armor makes killing the big tentacles really easy regardless of the upgrade. A single hit taken will proc the armor and kill them all.

Bramble husk is good for any swarm.

I ALWAYS go for bramble husk specialist.

spiders, bees, etc., without tanking damage or durability.

people just don't use the armor in general enough for how good it is.

I think it's because people still think it has 60% damage reduction and less durability, as you can't tell it changed other than the recipe without reading the update notes from the WX-78 rework, and people were focused on WX-78 of course.

its free damage now with the skill, it outperforms the Scalemail by a mile!
