actually no. JoeW said that a new klei member was creating the site and it has some bugs...

it's okay even tho i forgot his name again.

Do you even understand concept of multiplayer for different types of games? Some games are absolutely NOT designed and NOT suited for multiplayer. If you can't distinguish why don't starve is a great game for adding multiplayer and ONI is not, then you're not very smart person.

You must be new here, go search old threads where Don't Starve dev was saying multiplayer for Don't Starve is not possible.

With regards to ONI specifically, it's because multiplayer can only ever function in an arms-length capacity (sending a Rocket to another player).  Trying to put multiple players in a single asteroid would just lead to fighting over limited resources in the early game.  Not to mention the performance impact that would be incurred, and then exacerbated by network communication.

In a more general sense, a lot of people have had bad experiences with multiplayer games.  It just takes 1 troll to ruin a good 30 to 45 minute game session, and you're powerless to do anything about it.  You can't leave the game because you get slapped with leaver penalties.  There's nothing you can say or do to change the behavior of the offending player.  And even if you report them and they get banned, they will just make another throwaway account and continue Fing with other people's time.

Not if it is coop with friend list... Of course with random players, this could be tricky. 

Imagine cooperation with 2 portals, TEAM A and TEAM B... and working together... Digging tunnelq to join the other and fighting THE DARK REGOLITH !!! x) well maybe not that way... 

There need to be multiplayer, preferable as separate game, so we will have 2 games that have the same crore but will get different expansions and dlc so you can't play just one and need to play 2 of them or none since they both get stupid, and both lack something that other has, forever torn apart, just for fun and profit.

I was one of those guys constantly browsing the DS wiki telling MP hopefuls that multi-player would never happen so you can guess how I felt when I made the "multi-player confirmed" topic. But MP for ONI won't happen. There's nothing that could be added that could make game more fun without warping it into some questionably made Cortex Command clone (Which wasn't that well put together itself.)

That was because of the architecture of the game, not the game concept itself. The devs explained that. So they made a new game later (Don't Starve Together) instead of implementing a multiplayer in Don't Starve. But ONI is a total different type of game (simulation), so a multiplayer doesn't make sense, especially not with that complex gameplay. Nobody could explain a good concept for a multiplayer for ONI yet, almost nobody wants it, so it isn't worth put work in it. A very few people just think: hey, I would like to play the game online with a friend, but I don't know how this would work and I don't really think about how the current game works - but I want it, because multiplayer is always more fun than singleplayer. But this game is a singleplayer game and it will stay a singleplayer game. A multiplayer version of ONI had to be a totally different game.

I think about how the current game works, and I think having very rudimentary multiplayer would be a benefit to the game.  The way it would work in my mind is that you would have a second view and a second cursor and it would act exactly like the single player, except there is more than one person making orders.  Like a collaborative IDE or Google Docs.  You can see their cursor flying around and doing things, but it is clear which is yours and which is theirs.  This would be relatively simple (compared to other ideas for multiplayer) and add a significant feature to the game.  Plus, then I could watch one area of the game while I am working on another, which could be cool.  This would not be a large scale multiplayer experience, just a few people working on projects for the betterment of dupe-kind.

But single player performance (including multithreading) > multiplayer. 

I could potentially see some sort of player-to-player resource trading being possible.  Using the Telescope, you can locate some sort of automated station that you can send a Rocket to using various Cargo parts.  Orders can be placed at the station for others to fill, and upon being filled at the station can be transferred to a Rocket to be brought home.

That said, by the time you can build Rockets, what need do you have for excess resources?  What is there that you can't manufacture yourself at a much lower cost of resources?

Because Rocket should be made to search for "Relics" of the ancient world unobtainable anywhere else to solve some kind of mystery (the final mystery) x)

Stardew Valley is a simulation game too, though they added multiplayer so... Yes yes it's not really the same but still , when you want it => you can do it xD
