Big Event #2? Lets theorise!

Recommended Posts

A fixed randomly generated world map like from adventure mode but with unique assets and a specific survival goal required to win, or a tower defense wave survival where you build a fort and fill it full of traps and such.

Give walls an actual defensive function beyond duping the AI with signs and or delaying the inevitable.

I'd be in huge favor of a dungeon crawler, to be honest with you. Think Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, with randomly generated floors and enemy placements, and lots of loot to use.

A more explorative-based event would be really cool, as combat is unfortunately, a little oversaturated. Still would love for the Forge to return though.

Charlie will bring everyone back from the Forge dimension and put everyone to the punishment. The event will be the life of the characters in prison. Wortox will be the veteran who will pass the schemes to escape that he did during all those years. Then he'll be an unlockable character.

Please something like this and not another long boring fight!

The characters go to some dimension that's obviously a parody of Valhalla and fight in some ragnarok-like event.

The characters go to the Mactusk home dimension and somehow wind up participating in a ceremonial hunger-games style hunting game.

The characters must fight for their sanity and their life when they go to the hub to destroy Them and free Charlie once and for all.

Isn’t the next big thing gonna be hamlet? Or do you mean limited time events?

"Event 2" is going to be the next Forge-like event. That's not to say it's going to be exactly like the Forge, but it's just an event not tied to any holiday.

All of this. It would be pretty fun if you had a limited amount of time to explore, loot and gear up before you were thrown into an arena like the Forge. All while still managing your basic stats.

I think it's going to be something similar to the forge (just another faction/race) - something trying to get into the DST world (attacking the portal again) with different gameplay/mode .

Side note : I like the event's the only things that I don't like is - the content is there for limited time - the enemys , the game mode and everything ... I don't like it because ... nothing get's added to the base game ..... to the survival part . I would prefer regular updates (every 3 weeks like before) , or even a DLC ... sorry for the rant .

I'd love a event along the lines of Misforune. The defunct RPG had a interesting maze-like mechanic I'd love to see be brought back.

The screenshots of Misfortune remind me of the very ancient Mac game, Scarab of Ra, which I’ve often wondered if it was in influence on Don’t Starve. First-person, you go through a series of ever-larger mazes looking for food/gold and escaping monsters. You can starve, but the most striking commonality are monkeys that steal stuff out of your inventory. When the Tail o’ Three Cats came along, it seemed like another connection because the main way you get the monkey to drop your stuff is by cracking a bullwhip at it. Still haven’t tried that on the splumonkeys, though, because I usually just kill them.

If there are any Klei developers reading this, I would love to know if any of you used to play it.

There’s an online implementation here: https://lightningmanic.github.io/

Would actually love to see Shipwrecked brought into DST. The mechanics could be reused from DS to create an "adventure" (or connected?) world in SW.

It would also be nice if, whatever the next event is, it does not require a fixed amount of players as Forge did (even though it was beatable with less than 6 players).
