I do not want to play the single player edition i wanna play dst i like the way it works in there better, but.. alas i can't get my self to play BY my self, readers, can you tell me your insights and stories of how or if you play alone on don't starve? and How i can get into it. Posted November 27, 2016 Share Posted November 27, 2016 I always play alone because I have nobody to play with ;-; but I have my own mod character so I think that is what makes playing alone fun for me. Playing alone as Wilson or any other default character in DST? That would be boring & annoying since DST's balanced for multiple players... So, maybe make your own mod character? Donke60 Posted November 27, 2016 Share Posted November 27, 2016 Well I wouldn't agree with that statment entirely because I don't want to but most people on the forums have played the orginal don't starve If you want help playing alone you can mess with the console get balence mods to lower some of the mobs health to fit one person. I always did weird stuff when I play DS or DST now like play woodlegs but on Rog only or DST as wes(well that ones normal) I don't know what we can really say to convice you because for me and a lot of others DST is just DS but with a few new things like a sequal so most are used to playing alone though that is a wide speculation. For me, I play DS because of shipwrecked. It's something new, different and it's exclusive to DS. Honestly, if it wasn't for SW I likely wouldn't have gone back to DS. I know I didn't really touch DS much after DST was released, but I bought SW not too long ago and I find myself hopping between the two quite a lot now. Vargling Posted November 27, 2016 Share Posted November 27, 2016 I have a project I work on from time-to-time to rebalance mobs, add back teleportato, etc. Perhaps when it's done you'd like to try it. It won't have Adventure Mode or Dragonfly back as a Summer boss, tho. If you have the game (if you don't, I would highly recommend you buy it), play the single player Don't Starve, going in blind. You might die a lot along the way and it's all part of the game design. Just go in blind and perhaps tell your experiences to us, because we don't have enough of that going around anymore, to my knowledge. I do have a balance giants health mod, so it changes health according to people on the server. Playing alone stays fun for me because I like doing my own thing and discovering new things on my own. Mr.Tarunio Posted November 27, 2016 Share Posted November 27, 2016 My opinion on playing solo dst: It can be fun, it can be tasking, it can get overwhelming. there are many things you can do in a world like ruins raiding alone with 40 blue caps :>, figuring ways to solo every boss like using bunnymen to kill dfly in a matter of minutes, soloing has its ups and downs, but i think it can be fun to people who are tired of newbies or someone raiding ruins on day 12. hkhm Posted November 27, 2016 Share Posted November 27, 2016 i play solo dst almost all the time. and i don't have a single mod installed. it is not that i don't like playing with other people, i do. it is just that the few people i know have played for maybe 5 hours and then give up. or random players come in, steal all my mandrakes (or whatever) and then log off. by this point, i try to make the game as hard as i can handle, long nights, short autumn, very long winter & summer... that sort of thing. i guess that's the other reason no one stays for very long in my worlds: frequent hound and cave worm attacks, rampant wildfires, few resources...
