I think that it's important to remember that it's not necessarily the same person doing skin and the one working on coding. So one team could work on something when the other is on another game for example, or the contrary. Opposing disease to new bosses (they require coding too) is probably more relevant, since there is more chance that someone working on new code for new boss could work on disease instead (and it's even not garanteed since it's not the same kind of code, possibly). It's a common thing in game that a team could work in some new things when another is not as free to do so, and so a kind of contrast between new shiny things and old things that are a little abandoned, because one team have time and the other have not. Doesn't mean that there isn't priority choice, like adding new content instead of changing old one, but skin is really not the problem. Especially when skin could have been created a long time ago and put in the game because it's thematic now. You're making it sound like Klei are litiraly the devil, to hell with these accursed skins TAKING AWAY OUR CONTENT! Changing a entire game mechanic will prove to be way more challenging then adding new skins, which is literally a few new (pretty) doodles. As for getting saying they need to get their prioritizes straight... you're kidding me, right? Have you seen the latest hotfixes they released? People said marble bushes were OP, they nerfed them, same with Jellybeans and the new boss. It's obvious that Klei listen to us, so let's maybe give them time to work something out, after all they're working a tight schedule atm, cranking out new content every 3 weeks. Most Early Access games can't keep that track record and DST isn't even in Early Access. They already revamped the disease system once, if its as big as a issue as people say it is, then it's possible they'll look into it again. Also they need to make them not affect building placement,possibly most annoying thing since hound attacks. Hey you wanna place a wall there let me just stand there. This is the main reason why I abandoned my vargling. The pet system feels so lack luster,obtaining them feels unnatural. The smallbird is still a regular mob (smallbirds are useless who actually bothers with them) Theres not much varity thought they would add baby volt goats,or varity for vargling (ice,fire vargling) they need to fix this or else it will become redundant! Dang them artists coding mechanics I don't like! My opinion on pets is that they don't need to be 'fixed'. Some of you think that without some 'greater purpose' and with 'being invincible and stuff' pets are redundant. I think that if they required anything more than a piece of meat from time to time, I wouldn't bother ever getting one of them. The game is already tedious enough. I also don't need any 'greater purpose'. More 'needy' pets would be annoying - we already have Beefalos and Smallbirds if you want animals that need to be nursed all the time, pets not being invincible would be annoying because you wouldn't be able to go anywhere with them. I don't need any special abilities for them, they're just there to look cool and I'm fine with that. I have another dumb thing to achieve - Broodling or Ewelet early game following me just so I can brag a bit. Crafting pets being 'not natural', eh? It could've been easily solved with an additional animation of pet coming out of that cave-thingie. There, it's 'more natural'. Ok, i understand better. So, maybe i don't remember well, but i partially disagree. There was a moment when Don't Starve Together got update, and Singleplayer got Shipwrecked, so it was true, development of multiplayer was not the end of single-player. Shipwrecked is... More or less great (for me), but still a big content for a singleplayer game. So maybe i'm wrong but i never understood it as "all the update of DST will come in DS", because i'm not even sure it's possible, since code in DS is different so it mean a lot of test and stuff. Especially when DST includes natively ROG now, and DS doesnt. Just that working on DST doesn't mean that DS will get abandoned, and it was true. Maybe it's not true anymore, but again, i don't remember they told that DS will always receive updates as long as DST exist. I miss stuff like campsites and like traps (not the Ice Box), remember the traps? Those were awesome. It's almost like things take time to do. Last time you did this thread, a few months passed since, DST kept being tweaked, then ANR started coming out which requires even more care. Besides, DS is a finished game(SW is far from it but if we'll talk about that trainwreck we'll be here all day) and in fact tweaking it more might as well end up ruining it(A lot of veterans would go on and on about the reasoning). There are also lore reasons for a bunch of content to not make its way back(Just about every actually new creature is Charlie's creation so it can't exist during the first game). Also DST is a sequel. How often does content from the sequel get ported back to its previous game? Trap (summer/winter) were maybe awesome for veteran, but not really fun when you play with friend, and someone do a mistake because he is new and your game is ruined (especially summer trap). As far as i know there is no more "base" setpiece. (Like a science machine, a crockpot), but i still found some set piece like the sleeping spider, the beefalo camp (with the trapped chest), guard pig defending berry bush or the "staff and sleeping hound". I would like to see more set piece, because they are rarer than before, but they still exist. I think the base set piece disappears, but there is still the trap with beefalo camp (you open the chest, gunpowder explode and all take fire) and even if it's classic, the hound trap (you take the staff, they awake). I don't know if the rot trap still exist (the one in the swamp), but i think i saw it recently... However, I do still love the time we found the winter trap right away and _nothing happened_, so we had a free fridge on Day ONE. You consider how long it takes to find gears sometimes; that is an _amazing_ find. ...if it doesn't kill you. : P I've never really used the beefalo-camp base. I mean, it LOOKS good, but even without opening the chest--one fire hound or forgetting to build a lightning rod in time and POOF! All gone. Stone walls all the way, even if the damn dogs _do_ sometimes get so obsessed with chomping them, they don't notice you _standing right there_. (Has that ever been tweaked--make them more focused on the actual pathway that already exists, and find the walls less delicious? Are there any mods for it? I'd like to have a funnel-o'-death for the hounds that actually WORKS just _once_.) ...also you don't ever want to _live_ that close among beefalo 24/7, anyway.
