CaptainChaotica Posted September 9, 2016 Share Posted September 9, 2016 Whenever I see the hypnotoad new toadstool thing silhouette, I'm reminded of, of all things..."The Trophy", from like, the third Myth Adventures book (by Robert Asprin--the ones with Skeeve, Aahz, Tananda, etc.) Why? Well, because The Trophy looked like a giant ugly statue of a frog/toad with things growing out of its back. The resemblence stops there (the SPECIFIC things growing out of its back were...quite different) but...the description of that thing, plus the ridiculous things the main characters had to go through to steal it, kinda stuck in my mind. Heh. So, to me, giant toad statue with things sticking out of it = snarky fantasy parody book from the early '80s.
