What do you want to be added to DST?

Recommended Posts

DST is a great game, but personally i feel like there is sometimes it's missing something. Here are some items i would add:

°Doors/Gates

Could be crafted exactly like the walls (Hay/Wood/Stone...)

°Infinite Lightsource

Mostly a Late Game item, because lanterns aren't that fancy.

°Roofs

There was a post about this already, but i really feel like roofs should be added.

°Pickles

Self-explanatory.

Post what you would like to be added in the comments ~Ootay~

Naughtiness Medallion: Possibly crafted via ruins or found in a set piece. Tracks naughtiness based on dialogue.

Doors: Pretty simple

Tusks: An item crafted with bone shards (since they don't have many recipes), can be equipped to beefalo to increase damage.

BeefPack: Couldn't think of the name of the things elephants wore. Small packs that can be equipped on beefalo for a small amount of storage.

Maybe some way for more than one player to ride on beefalo?

Blowgun: A weapon that shoots flint/rocks. Has durability and does about 10-15 damage.

Leafy Bat: Basically a ham bat but crafted with leafy meat and cactus flesh. This wasn't my idea, got this from @DwerBomb and wanted to spread the word.

That's basically it, if I think of anything else i'll just edit this post.

- New wheaters. Hail storm in late summer and fall, will destroy crop (have a chance to drop them if they are fully grown). Will come with a tier 3 farm that protect your farm from bad wheater. Wet snow in winter : will also make you wet, so you have to manage wetness and cold.

- News things to discover over time. Strange plants and creatures appearing in the world so you want to explore again some parts. More stranges things to find during full moon.

I think having a cart to attach to trained Beefalo would be cool. A lot of storage and easily portable, but expensive to craft, and can be destroyed by Beefalo or burned. Or a wagon the characters could pull. Not as much space as a cart and slows speed, but a lot of storage. That might be neat.

A kite would make a cool sanity item. Could require a science machine and need 1 Papyrus, 3 petals, and 3 silk.

I agree for more stuff that appears later in the game to give new reasons to explore

Like Twitch Plays Pokémon, but with less people and more struggles. I love it!

°Infinite Lightsource

Something I always wanted to be a thing for illumination in late game bases is lampposts that work like lanterns but last much longer while also using more fuel, so they would basically just have a bigger storage for lantern fuel. I feel like it wouldn't be as overpowered as an infinite light source while still being more practical than lanterns lying on the ground or campfires since players can go and get a stack of light bulbs every once in a while instead of having to get fuel all the time.

Wendy: "He pinky-promised I'd get to ride on his shoulders next time. Such lies."

I'd love to see a Wendy-exclusive ability to ride werebeaver's back.

This WENDEAVER can be made if the wendy player has a beefalo saddle, she'll auto equip it on woodie's back when mounting and auto remove when dismounting. The werebeaver player can reject getting this at any time, and wendy can dismount at any time. Turning back to Woodie will also cancel and insta-dismount.

Pros of the wendeaver:

  • Werevebear gets a speed boost (walking cane boost) while carrying a Wendy.
  • The Werebeaver player handles the displacement movement and can melee attack things as usual, while the Wendy player can equip and use ranged weapons, effectively acting as a werebeaver's turret.
  • Damage received is shared: EG: a 20 damage hit will spread equally by 10 damage to werebeaver player and 10 to Wendy player.
  • Wendy can have speed penalties of piggyback or marble armor temporally denied by being carried.
  • Werebeaver gets a sanity drain reduction, to a much more reasonable number while carrying a Wendy, to around-ish 25 sanity/min pretty please?

Cons:

  • Werebeaver gets a faster hunger drain while carrying a wendy (Wes's level)
  • Wendy gets a sanity drain while riding. (maybe 10 sanity/min)
  • Non-enemies types of damage such as hunger, freezing, Charlie, etc will not be shared.
  • Wereveber can see in the dark, but Wendy still can't, and may get killed by Charlie if careless.
  • Saddle loses durability.

Is it worth it? who knows... getting all technical in numbers and benefits maybe not. But it sure seems like fun!

Another cool thing that I just thought of could be a battery. You could hook it up to a lightning rod, or maybe make a machine that could generate energy like windmills. It could give temporary power to things like lanterns, flingomatics, etc.

Boo had to google that, I never played dragon age :(

See? We can always discover something new ;).

If you want, I can show you that particular banter or even tell a bit about the setting if you want. In a PM. If you like the lore and climate of DST, you should feel quite at home from the word go.

Milking a toad, eh? Is that what the cool kids call it these days.

(Yay, first time actually posting in these forums!)

Bridges. BRIDGES!

For exactly the same reason as mentioned above by someone else.

A friend of mine also made a comment the other day that she'd love to see, somewhere down the line, some kind of tool to make cosmetic character mods easier, as currently it's rather difficult. Obviously that's a rather large endeavor, though, that wouldn't be implemented for quite some time if at all, but still a thought!

A few things I'd like to see are mostly just small "quality of life" stuff. Things such as naming chests to help with organization or repairing items by combining them together. If you've ever been in a large camp I'm sure you've seen that pile of junk with weapons and armor all sitting below like 20%.

"Hey! A free ice staff! *picks it up* Oh. It's only got 1 use left. *puts it back so it can disappoint someone else at a later date* "

Being able to combine the durability could add that 1 use to another staff would cut down on that junk cluttering the place. Yeah, I know tools and armor will autoequip another one if they break, but this simple repair mechanic can save that extra inventory slot.
