where are the shirts @Spazmatic ?

The t-shirt is in the OP all along!

so what are your thoughts/speculations on the krampusnachts that were mentioned ("krampus's naughty days are almost over- Kevin") a while ago?

Imo it will rise or fall with a simple question: When you attack one Krampus, will the others become agressive aswell? I mean if you can just pick them off one by one then it's basically not gonna be that much of a challenge. Well they could mess up your chests if you're in your base, but their lack of caring for their own kind is what will be their downfall if it's still present during the Krampusnachts...

BUT safe to say, Krampus will not be reskinned and turn into a random mob like let's say spiders, so that part of Team Krampus we already achieved. We'll see how the Krampusnachts will go.. We also showed Kevin there are indeed a lot of people who care for that goat-man, which totally changed his plans for him. T'was like a revolution.. A Kramped Revolution. :)

I wanted to try out our modding system so I made this: Krampusnacht

Each winter on a random night Krampusnacht will happen. There are consequences if any Krampus is still alive when dawn breaks.

Oh wow... I will totally try this out tomorrow! :D

I am excited for the Krampusnachts, it sounds awesome...  I don't even know what to say.. Except for go Team Krampus and Bryce! (for making this I assume you wouldn't mind joining us? :) )

Excuses for the double post beforehand, but damn. Just had my very first Krampusnacht and it was CRAZY (in a good way)!

It already started with a subtle yet recognizable hint for when your night will be a Krampusnacht. There they came, out of the darkness, all focussing on a task at hand: Snatch stuff from the ground, mock the player, kick the chest.. And then I dared to attack one. I got a confirmation of what I was hoping for/ suggested: If you attack one Krampus, the rest will become agressive aswell! And they are also tougher than ever.. And when there's 6 of the darn things giving chase to you, it's quite the thrilling and deadly experience. You're gonna need some pigmen and more to conquer the Krampusnacht. I was dumbfounded by the sheer amount of Krampi and their agressiveness, so I spend most of the night running in a circle with the goatmen after me. I did not even manage to kill one of them! I lacked a football helmet and only had a logsuit, tentacle spike, spear and 2 blowdarts (aka an early first winter material). Needless to say, I did not manage to kill all the Krampi and had to suffer the consequences for that.. Won't spoil what it is though, but it's awesome.

You can probably easily conquer the Krampusnacht with higher or endgame tier items, but then again even the toughest enemies are nothing when wearing full thulecite or even night armor and a football helmet. But when you are unprepared for the menace, you're better off running...

I'm really happy that @Kevin 's idea, *our* suggestions and @Bryce 's modding combined resulted in the Krampusnacht. The end result was even better than I could ever imagine. All I hope for now is that the Krampusnacht will make it into the vanilla game, and with a slider to adjust it's frequency (I want more, but some people may want less ;) ). If it's going to be a mod exclusive, that is fine too. It is up to you Klei :) And now a summary of the Krampusnacht and what it brings:

- A recognizable hint for when your night will be a Krampusnacht. You gotta listen carefully though!

- A night during winter that is unlike a boring night!

- A new threat, with old Krampus

- New winter activity, be it a one time per winter event only

- Krampus stays the way he is, yet is even tougher than before

- Krampus has a bond with his brethren and the group will attack if you dare to attack one

- Fail to kill them all and suffer the consequences...... Do kill them and get a reward!

ohh yeah I tried it too and it was damn crazy! I loved it first krampi I had ever seen too, alone they are easy to deal with but together "oh gawd ruuun!" and I had to test the consequence (did save scum a bit though, but it was for testing so I guess thats okay) and woah, that consequence could really mess you up if you are unlucky. the best bit... I got the krampus sack from it too. I was one day 100 odd and it was still a huge challenge required more than the magic number of tooth traps (24)

Im really happy that it was old krampus that was there otherwise Id've never seen a real krampus! this mod is probably one of my favourite mods ever!

Well, just got my ass kicked by Krampusnauchts....never saw that coming. I'm so used to destroying everything (especially Krampus) that I just got wrecked. I was like "Eh how bad can it REALLY be??"...then I found out.

Oh and this doesn't happen just during winter nights...I was traveling at night during summer and had nothing prepared at all. I was gonna start running around with sleep darts during winter as preparation but I thought I was safe....I thought I was safe ;_;

Hey guys I thought of a way to improve the threat of Krampus, so hear me out:

Pigman = 15 naught points, killing some what civilized sentient beings is pretty naughty to say the least.

Beefalo = 10 naughty points, these are beautiful majestic creatures that could even be made extinct if you are not careful

crow = 3 naughty points

robin and winter robin = 5 naughty points

Smallbird = 15 naughty points, because seriously.

butterfly = 7 naughty points, ripping wings off a butterfly is pretty gosh dang naughty.

rabbit = 3 naughty points, you got to eat but don't go crazy with it.

tallbird = 5 naughty points,  you are literally killing a mother bird.

and here is the key anything else not listed above is 1 naughty point.

All life is precious even a spider and if you go and massacre 30 spiders within minutes of each other that it some naughty business you are up to.

The code to make this possible is simple just make a mod folder to overwrite the scripts\components\kramped.lua file and replace the fuction Kramped:onkilledother with this:

function Kramped:onkilledother(victim)	if victim and victim.prefab then		if victim.prefab == "pigman" then			if not victim.components.werebeast or not victim.components.werebeast:IsInWereState() then				self:OnNaughtyAction(15)			end		elseif victim.prefab == "beefalo" then			self:OnNaughtyAction(10)		elseif victim.prefab == "crow" then			self:OnNaughtyAction(3)		elseif victim.prefab == "robin" then			self:OnNaughtyAction(5)		elseif victim.prefab == "robin_winter" then			self:OnNaughtyAction(5)		elseif victim.prefab == "smallbird" then			self:OnNaughtyAction(15)		elseif victim.prefab == "butterfly" then			self:OnNaughtyAction(7)		elseif victim.prefab == "rabbit" then			self:OnNaughtyAction(3)		elseif victim.prefab == "tallbird" then			self:OnNaughtyAction(5)		else			self:OnNaughtyAction(1)		end	endend

I personally don't like the krampusnachts idea in general because I think it misses the point of Krampus.  Krampus is supposed to be a force that is constantly judging all your actions making you afraid and making you consider each action more carefully because being bad has consequences.  krampusnachts is just a random monster attack and while those can be fun in the case of hound and Deerclops attacks, I think Krampus should represent something more.  I would like the krampusnachts event more if it was something you brought on yourself because you deserve it, maybe if they start to happen because you kill too many regular Krampii and they were out for revenge it would fit the theme of Krampus better.

I'm not sure if I like or hate Krampus, i mean i'm sure i hate him when he doesn't drop the sack, but in another way he somehow amuses

me every time I "call" him I mean he's Humanoid goat with a huge sack running around and stealing stuff, and that''s quite hilarious for me.

So yeah I guess i like Krampus and i think he's fine the way it is. Maybe the only thing to add is a little more chance drop on the sack xD

Bump because the Krampusnachts are still not in the vanilla game and the previewbuild did not include 'em either. Oh and to see if the community after all this time is finally ready for them. Come on community!  :encouragement:

This ain't over untill we got our Krampusnachts in the vanilla game, you hear me?!
