Horticulture, Abridged Recipe Change

Lategame most character perks are trash. Arguably all of them.

Before the changes to Wickerbottom, horticulture was really good for lichen, stone fruit bushes and also resources with lureplants, everyone else can do it too but they'd need to wait for them to grow before they visit the area while with Wicker you could literally bundle up as many stacks as she has books for at once.

Recipe cost is much higher for applied silviculture and horticulture, abridged and there are range limits so its not really that great or even worth doing.

From the Wickerbottom players that i know most of us didn't use horticulture on old farms, so if that was the issue maybe her book could've stayed the same at reap what you sow update but without being able to affect the farming plots would've been much better.

I'd agree that she was a bit stronger compared to other characters but since that happened we had Wanda release and now all the refreshes that have happened have resulted in buffs, took a while for Wolfgang but he's finally in a good spot.

She was useful late game for farming resources that can be tedious to do otherwise and there are also really useful perks on other characters, mostly comes down to Wanda teleporting and alarming clock,Wortox healing and hops,Wormwood being able to farm living logs.

i disagree, i'd say she was always around the same level of being good, which was ok, but i don't think she was op in anyway. Klei did nerf her for weird reasons but i don't think she has gotten much worse as a result

i'd say she is better than both these characters by a mile

Wickerbottom is... interesting. She's sort of like Jesus coming down from heavens to bless players with free food and materials - on early days, that is. But as the time goes and years pass, she feels a bit irrelevant. Food is abundant, grass/twigs are mountains...

She deserves some touches that juggle with food growth, I like the idea of acceleration that was mentioned in this thread. As it stands, a lot of arguments can be brought up regarding late-game. "Instantly growing 10 vegetables is trash when you just have tons of (specific food source)"

Bosses are farmed endlessly (possibly automatically) with their useless drops littering chests, the entire map is explored, all the quests are complete...

Everyone's perks suck at the end of the game, dudebroman. You've already done everything, there's nothing left to do.

Nope. Some are made to be lategame more powerful as you try to go for those goals. But I guess most of them are pretty static.

i think the problem is Cheggf's definition of late game is basically post game which makes a big difference

He said years, plural. It doesn't even take that long to do everything you can do in a world other than whatever silly things you come up with. This is a sandbox game where you do what you want, there is no "lategame" where you're actually accomplishing anything. There is enough content to earn new things for 1 maybe 2 years and anything else you just do because. Acting like character viability in the "lategame" matters is pointless.

wait for her rework, she'll get her due attention and respect then

I hope she doesn’t get nerfed on the books side, honestly.

I’d be fine if she was nerfed on the physical side, like embracing the “old lady” thing more as a weakness, while letting her shine in the magic arts. I’d even buff her magic side by a lot, to be honest. Mostly to be a character that relies on magic to solve many of her every day problems, besides her current late game farming capabilities.

I love the idea of more combat focused books, at the cost of her physique..

But really i love keeping her physique the same but focusing more on her books and or reed management (maybe immovable resources in general, like cactus as well) abilities. I like how her books currently really effect the world rather than the physical player, and would love to see that expanded on more.

She is a picky spoilage eater and can't sleep. Not the biggest downsides, so I'd enjoy 1 additional negative to her.
