Who do you main and why?

Recommended Posts

Willow because I like being a Bernie factory

I’ll go Wormwood if I’m interested in building living log things

I will use Wurt because I want to like her, but I don’t.

Webber is an old interest I sometimes return to, but the game can’t handle his spiders.

Wolfgang, I like doing tasks speedier and beating things heads in faster, I also usually don't play with a large group so the damage against bosses helps a lot.

Webber, I like pikmin and he's essentially just that same sorta gameplay besides the whole throwing your companions. Healing is also one of my least favourite things to do (it's not hard, I just get tired of making 20 million pierogis) so being able to heal easily is kinda awesome, similar reason with Wolfgang since he has tons of health and requires less resources in a fight so less healing.

Speaking from utility, Wanda for convenience, as no other character is ever able to travel to bee queen' hive one day, and dragonfly the next, and lunar islands followed by the ruins.

But speaking from cuteness, Wendy. I've heard Wendy mains boast her various skins and her beloved companion sister.

Thus I decide to make a compromise by playing Wendy-skinned Wanda. Now I'm a Wendy main except that I use pocket watches and have no Abigail around.

Would've been pretty cool if Klei didn't patch Wardrobe glitch, then we could have stuff like playing a character for the perks but looking like another one for cosmetic reasons. Smh Klei

I main Wolfgang I like him for his "dumb" but honest personality, he's pretty child-like despite his appearance since his grammar is bad and his vocabulary is limited.  He's like a big kid, he can be extremely enthusiastic for the things he understands or enjoys and deadpans when he doesn't get it, sometimes coming off as insensitive due to his one track mind.

When he got mighty through eating I enjoyed feeling like a bulldozer after culling generations of mob for meat to sustain my power for days.  When I would neglect safety and bite off more than I could chew without replenishing my food I enjoyed feeling like rat running away to recover or watching my hunger drop closer to 225 or 100 since if I didn't fix my situation before then I would probably die. Before reworks only a few characters felt "game changing".

I still enjoy his new play style since I mostly play this game with others who aren't really good at this game lol. I spend a lot of time typing either explaining things or interacting with random players. So having the 2x damage while standing still or while resource starved lets me relax and focus more resources to my teammates who are struggling so they don't get discouraged. With that extra strength it's easier to endure more, to bring back more and to give more it's nice.

I just wished he didn't call others "tiny" or "weak" so often since it seems mean.

Wormwood is a plant and you can't play as the zombies in this game.

Spoiler

Can't believe PvZ removed the majority of the zombies in the survival game spinoff smh

On a serious note that's literally it, i like plants and wormwood is a plant.

I'm a Wart main (Wanda and Wurt, but mostly Wurt). I play Wanda for earlygame ruins clearing, Klaus, Lunar Island etc. then I switch to Wurt when I'm relatively far into the game and I have lots of resources for Merms.

Sometimes I'm impatient and just want to start a playthrough as Wurt though.

Unga bunga answer: many fish punch bee me get infinite food containers and beans ooga booga

Mostly Old Wanda for the challenge and because i hate travelling over long distances.

Sometimes Wolfgang because it's good for bosses. although i miss him losing mighty on hit. The loss was too much and should've been tweaked, but now the passive loss is very annoying.

I mostly play solo or with one other person. I like minmaxing so i don't see the point of playing other characters.

Willow was my favorite. But when I saw Wes. That he was weak, thin, hungry and nobody liked him, I felt represented.

It's like betting on the horse that only loses, rooting for the weakest team, defending the wronged.

At the time I was very scared that Wes' balloons used sanity as an ingredient. It's like they have a life of their own. And from then on I try to find unusual uses for your balloons.

Spoiler

Snakes also focus on the balloons!

Can you corner and kill bunnies with speed balloons or know where a wormhole ends? Give him one and you can also use it as a Flare!

The inflatable vest and balloon hat are like fireproof gunpowder!

If you don't have a goal? Inflate a balloon it's like rolling a dice, the figure that comes out will decide your fate!

Wes is the character with the fastest and cheapest punch in the game, just hold a balloon!

until you realize it's better to drop the balloon pile on the ground and move on.

Wes manages to "pull" a nightmare back into combat, in case the nightmare killed by Wes has caused him to regain his sanity to be minimally sane.

Just inflate one more balloon (I usually wear balloon hats).

Then they get angry with you again.

Because it's very annoying when you lose the durability of a weapon with a nightmare that goes out of combat.

The friendly, sweet ol' librarian, WIckerbottom! Her books allow me to harvest crops, morsel meat, feathers, grass and twigs,

and even volt goat milk quickly and efficiently, allowing me to spend less time harvesting and more time fighting and

exploring. Not only that, but as Ohan said earlier, her books feel so magical to use. Being able to summon birds from thin air,

watching crops grow to their full size in a matter of seconds, and casting down lightning from the sky make me feel like I'm a

wizard casting a magical spell (unlike Maxwell who is an actual magician). I really hope when her refresh comes, they play into

this spell caster type of feeling.

I main Wilson mostly because I love his personality, Wolfgang because my friends needed a Wolfgang and playing him became a habit, and Wortox partly because of his personality and partly because I like teleporting and being a heal fountain. I have other characters I play a lot (Wormwood, Maxwell, Webber, and WX-78 in DST, plus Walani, Wheeler and Warly in DS singleplayer; I don't play Warly as much in DST because I nearly starved to death the first time I forgot to bring my crockpot with me, and I find Maxwell a lot more fun to play in DST than DSAlone, where I've mostly given up on playing him, because of the reworked puppets and different revival mechanics), but it's because I enjoy their characterization, with mechanics being secondary. I more often avoid characters because of their mechanics, either because I find them too disagreeable in general or because the current server conditions make the drawbacks for a character I normally like to play a huge and unavoidable source of frustration.

I used to main Wolfgang,  but after nerf he's  been dumped. I'm currently and for the foreseeable future a Wurt main when I play alone which is 80% of the time. The other 20% on Pubs is Woodie since I can help people Kickstart a world by rushing Lunar.

Wurt

I used to very much dislike Wurt, but I've come to love her. Give her a chance, a real chance lol. You might be pleasantly surprised.
