Klei can you please make ticoons immune to tooth traps?

I thought they are actually immortal because the world generates only one of each...

ticoons is the big tiger cat that helps you finding the kitcoons by expending 1 lucky nugget

Fun fact: if you have a pet vargling the Ticoon will stop and hiss at it each time it gets too close. The kitcoons also appear to run away from it when it's too close.

Consided changing to a Kittykit pet to avoid this but then didn't..  vargling is the only pet (as far as I'm aware) that doesn't break your ears when hungry. Vargling is polite and let's out a very quiet and easily ignorable bark.

Nope, a tentacle smacked them and they went to fight the tentacle instead of helping me. :wilson_dorky:

...who does this Ticoon think they are, Abigail?  : P

At any rate, Ticoon should DEFINITELY be immune to tooth traps.  I'm surprised it wasn't already!

The Ticoon hisses at YOU for not following it to its destination regardless of if you have a Vargling or not.. like just when it wants a Kitcoon found but you take your sweet time and go away from where it wants you to go, it will come hiss at you like a “Warning” to help it find its babies or it’s about to eat you.

Ticoon is very much a TIGER… not a cute Kitten, it’s not a House Cat, it is a vicious meat eating wild predator..

And just like a Lion Tamer in a Circus, if it doesn’t feed and take care of its Pets, it’s pets will eat them.

Ticoon should probably attack players if they don’t appease it, but… Seems Klei wants to phase out the “Uncompromising” parts of the game.

All I can say is yesterday when I needed to find the 9th Kitcoon on Lunar Island I had actually forgotten to open up the seafaring tab and learn how to craft a boat up to that point- so it hissed at me the ENTIRE time I needed to build the Structure and then prototype all the boat parts, and then build the boat.. but by the time I did all that unfortunately the Ticoon died to incoming Hound Wave so I had to recruit another one

Huh thought it had a problem with my vargling, but actually it's just a grumpo.

Ah, so you've met my real-life cat, then.  : P

That was the only even slightly "scary" picture of him I had on hand.  I've always thought it looked like his dramatic Borgified closeup as he turns...slowly...into the camera...with the one glowing eye...

ANYway.  I haven't even met a Ticoon yet, as the one world I was trying to look for kitcoons in kept crashing, and in the other one I had to travel WAY too far to find buliding materials and am not prepared for winter yet. But I agree with it being immune to tooth traps in general, 'cos I love to have a BIG ol' field of those, later on.  :)

You can hire them for one measly lucky golden nugget (unfortunately you can only hire one at a time..) they don’t DO Anything except walk in the direction of missing Kitcoons, but if you’ve found all 9 of them then you can Hire Ticoon just to walk around with you as sort of a pet that isn’t just purely Cosmetic Only.

Ticoon is more like the Small Birds, Adorable Larvae or Beefalo- They can be attacked and killed.

Yeah, I knew that.  I do have a shrine, it's just that right now in that world it's Day 18 and I don't have a thermal stone or any warm clothing, so I have to worry about that first.  Maybe THEN I'll hire a Ticoon (I do have some token thingies), but I'll probably have to worry about hounds and/or Deerclops first.  (Random seasons--I have no idea how long this winter'll be.  I know it will EXIST, because my birch trees are going bare, but that's all I know right now.)

Huge worlds are interesting and fun to explore, but MAN are they a pain when the one thing you're looking for is like, seven biomes away.  : P

Sorry to keep dragging this off-topic, guys. Well I guess it's a LITTLE on-topic--I would hire a Ticoon, but it would be a bad idea to do so right now because reasons.

Broodling hardly makes any noise

The Ticoon only ever hissed at me when I attacked him.

Whenever I made him wait, he'd just strike a pose and after a while Wormwood would say "He's waiting" and the Ticoon would just be stuck on his pose until I got near him.

After he starts waiting, if you take too long and run the opposite direction, he'll hiss and run after you.
It's a cute interaction, he won't hiss if you simply take too long to follow though.
