I was kinda hoping THIS particular thread would’ve stayed buried though.. as I have little to no interest in NewHome.

The art design is ugly, and a downgrade from DS/DST And more importantly: JoeW mentioned in the original reveal that New Home was Non-Canon to the DS Franchise.. and if it took place Anywhere within the story plot at all- it’s sort of after DS and Wilson trading places with Maxwell, but Before DST where Charlie frees Wilson from the throne and throws him back into the constant.

therefore: Anything created in DS:NewHome is during “Wilson’s Reign” so all content has to be after DS, but before DST..

Which is probably why it was better to just call the game “Non-Canon”

NewHome has some cool unimplemented mobs/features.. but I’m still hoping they abandon the project altogether and just use those ideas in DST or a proper DS 2

None of the Content in this thread was Newhome's content.
I made this thread to showcase Don't Starve Together content obtained through Newhome's leak. They leaked DST's assets, and this is what's archived here.

I have not posted anything for and/or used in Newhome, and there is no correlation. That aside, this was also a thread for RoT datamines, which further follow ups into today's modern update chain.

I saw that Fuelweaver in DSHN can be stunned like dragonfly. Its animation is quite smooth and looks like a high quality product of DST was in 2017, could it be an unimplemented feature of the original DST?

Took me an absurdly long time to find, but alas! Found them!
The animation is 'smooth' for Newhome standards, so it's an improvement over their earlier animations, but the animations are specifically custom for Newhome's stun system. Many other mobs share this. Not unused DST content, good catch, though.

Brightmare_Westalt:

This is actually very similar to the Brightmare Alterego I shared a long time ago, a Gestalt mob that would mimic and copy players.
This one is very unfinished, but the difference is that this was meant to be using the player build, meaning it was either a playable character or meant to behave and mimic the player identically as an NPC, like Pearl.

So... this next one is really weird in the sense that it's not from Newhome or Klei... but actually a DST Workshop mod.
To note, the version in-game seems to have modified art, only for the placed version, though you can cross examine and see that it's the mod's version, gone over with new art.
This seems to actually be using the mod's animations in-game, as you can find rope bridges in some promo footage for DSNH. Very, very odd.
The mod in question being Rope Bridges by Gleenus.

i would like to throw my two cents in here before this becomes the next big newhome controversy and note that KLEI THEMSELVES used a character template from the workshop when making Hamlet, whose assets still exist in Hamlet under the name "wepeatski", which to this day has only gotten a reaction of 'lol thats weird but who cares really' from the community

using mod content like this is of course a bad practice, but i'm begging you all to hold Klei accountable for the same thing they literally already did with no backlash, if you're truly bothered by this being done in Newhome.

I mean I’m no Lawyer or anything like that but im pretty sure that in that really really loooooonnnggg agreement you agreed to before you could play the game/make mods to use in the game you agreed to a Terms of Use contract, and in said contract they likely have the rights to use anything you put in the mod workshop with or without your permission & in any way they see fit in doing so.

When I make suggestions in these forums I do so knowing full well that anything I say can be used in any way they do or do not desire to use it.
