They die quickly in cold. So quickly, I cannot dig to them fast enough to save :( :)))

Yeah it's horrible when you lose all dreckos to the cold. You lose the ability to produce phosphorite and without it you can't use wheezeworts. Stupid freezing rust biomes causing your base to suffer an unavoidable heat death. Now if only it came with some far away biome where you could dump your excess heat... oh well, we can all dream of an easier gameplay.

How much has Wheezewort weakened? They have become much less effective than before. They should now feed with phosphorus.

P.S
By the 198 cycle, opening the entire map, I found only 7 of them. "Excellent patch" which I waited 3 months. My entire base literally overheated, that the plants stopped growing and my duplicates began to die of starvation.
Thank you Klei

maybe try different cooling methods.

We're dreckos temperature transfer changed through the updates? My glossy dreckos farm on rime could not hear up and they kept dying off, but as of last night they all seemed to be at around a healthy 70-80f

4 kg\cycle phosphorite is a logical change for Wheezewort? Yes.

Would that change make Wheezewort viable? No.

Even if it was 0.0001g/cycle, it would still take time to execute and make it not work sealed.

It's not like phosphorite is a limiting resource.

I had 11 wild worts spread through the base. I just uprooted them all to give place to trees (which I have the impression are more efficient than worts at balancing the climate). After removing them, it didn't make any significant difference at the base temperature. I just need the courage to finally compost them. It's so sad, I feel like having to burry my dead beloved dog.

I also built the Borg Cube but it's so crazy that I'm considering to start another map.

So apparently the worts are bugged and don`t care if they are tamed. How about we wait until it`s fixed before we call those things compost. It`s supposed to be auxillary cooling, similar to how oxyferns are auxillary oxygen sources. It still takes little room and can be used to cool areas that don`t produce their own heat (i used them like that a lot back when briar was the only decor plant).

We get it you don`t want touse it as your main cooler now that it needs to be fertilized. But don`t call them useless. It`s still a pocket heat deleting machine that can be moved around easily.

So, if they don't receive a fix, would you compost your seeds too? :D

They changed the fertilization requirements yesterday, but didn't touch their performance.

I'm affraid this is the final form of worts for release.

For me it looks like a case of copy-paste in the code somebody missed. I still think it`s not intended. Why would they double nerf it anyway? I even wouldn`t count out fixing it after the release (bugfixes after release still happen).

And how do you know that? In fact, I would say that pretty much most people that do not like this nerf do not think they are auxiliary cooling at all. Of course, they are now and pretty useless at that, but they pretty much were not before, they worked well as primary cooling.

I am really getting tired of this "you are using it wrong" nonsense.

As it has been pointed out to them countless times now and they have done nothing despite a lot of people not liking these changes at all, and a lot of opportunities to do something, I am now wondering whether the destruction of WW usefulness is not intentional. It also reduces immersion and story quality, because the were a pretty important part of the lore, exactly because they were not modeled on "reality".

Because it really doesnt make any sense to give us a cooling method that is effective as primary cooling method, available at VERY low tech level, uses no resources, requires very minimal infrastructure (only 1 flower pot and maybe small hydrogen room if you want to be more efficient) and requires no dupe time nor electricity to run at all. It would be just too good and easy mode.

Maybe it does not make sense to you. Sorry to make this personal, but do you really think you have the truth and anybody that does not like the change is demented in some fashion? Because I can assure you that is definitely not the case.

Do you honestly think that cooling that doesnt use ANY resources is well balanced and good game design?

Wheezeworts were essentially free cooling with no downsides at all. Now they use small amounts of phosphorite and dupe time and that makes you actually make a choice if you want to use them or not instead of just spamming them everywhere because "why not, it is free".

Domesticated vs wild values need to be fixed though as they are currently not working correctly...

I do honestly think that the game did behave like that for years and lots of people had no problem with it. You may have overlooked that simple, hard fact. They also were limited in numbers all the time. You cannot breed them. You cannot build them. Have you overlooked that as well? Please stop insisting you have access to absolute truth. You do not.

Well, anyways. Going to put you on my block-list now. I just have no patience for this anymore.

Nice! That was mature. Pleasure talking with you.

5kDTUs is not primary cooling. Even after considerable effort, setting up a room for 12kDTUs is still not primary cooling. It's nice, but handy for spot cooling, but it's nowhere near enough cooling for any serious level of heat.

One of the most effective uses of worts was to cool down electrolyzers, and that setup only needs 60kDTUs to be good.
