Organic sleet wheat

Recommended Posts

Just something I was playing with. Drop 5kg algae on a tile, use your 300c crude oil from metal refinery to melt it to dirt, use aquatuner next in the same loop to cool it down, drop sleet wheat seeds and bingo.

Can cool down the dirt to the temp of your desired plants, install a couple sweepers, a few wheezes to take care of sweeper heat and seal it up. Food for all eternity.

Love the new update! :D

Seeds are planting by themselves ? Does it need dirt to be cooled, or can it be cooled after ?

What does the new update have added to this concept ?

One thing : WW may not be a good idea. Now they need fertilization, and your AT should be able to manage the heat from sweeper, don't you think ?

Nice idea I must say.

I hate how tedious the "wild" plant setup is. The Exploit Update.

All this garbage with dropping single seeds, preventing dupes from picking them up, like there couldn't be a "plant wild plant here, keep the seed there until it takes root" designation.

And we're back to infinite free food forever meta, except with tedious shenanigans, unlike last two incarnations of this meta.

At least sleets plant themselves and you don't need to keep pips alive for them. Pinchas don't seem to plant themselves without help of those annoying anti-fun flaws in the game.

This isn't necessary. The new water plant requires no resources upkeep even while tamed and likes it warm (above 20c) so no cooling set up required. It coughs up far more kcals than wild sleet wheat too. Plus you can combine it with mushrooms (everybody still loves shrooms right?) to make a higher quality food than fried shroom.

I'm going to use this for arbor trees and get lots of ethanol and have a bunch of giant parks.

Make sure you share a nice picture when you're done, to showcase how the seed replanting feature affects the game. Sounds fun.

even at 25% efficiency, a naturally planted wheezewort should be enough to deal with the heat of sweepers since it's going to be extremely low. AT would be overkill imo.

Slime isn't infinite though unless you farm pufts which is quite bothersome. even then sleetwheat with pinchas provide a higher quality food. No cooling required here either, you can just as easily allow your dupes inside and have them collect the grains instead

Just wild-farm the shrooms?

you could yeah but isn't that the same concept as this? wild farming. and wouldn't it be better to have all your wild shrooms in 1 place of your own choosing?

Besides, I just love the +16 with the pepper bread.

Bah, what would I know? I've decided to just print new dupes rather than feed mine.

Is it new ? Does it work for each seed type ?

Yeah. It was in the patch notes so it's on purpose and not a bug and has worked for every seed type I've tried (Mealwood, the new trees, Mirth Leaf, Oxyferns, and Buddy Buds) so I'm assuming it's consistent for everything that grows up.

Hmmm... Maybe the new Pips can plant upside plants like Peppernuts and the new salt plant.

isn't lettuce free food without all that work?  They do not consume any water, just need a small pool on top.

they are but very low quality. Besides I just wanted to show that with the new mechanic you can get infinite wild plants of any kind, in any number, at a place of your choosing.

low quality but still way better than berries which consume water and need light.  Seems out of balance. and they can be upgraded to sushi rolls +4
