TiryanaBell
So at the edge of my base in one of the outgoing corridors I have a regular water flood, it is to say, a few grams of water appear on the floor out of nowhere. There are no leaking pipes , air is mostly co2, temp is about 28°C. top of the corridor is 3wall thick abyssalite separating the corridor from a slime biome. Anyone know where this water can possibly come from? It's very annoying as my dupes get low morale because of soggy feet all the time. Mopping is a chore. suicide commando
Maybe it is leaking in from a cold biome somewhere above it? Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/98129-water-leaking-from-nowhere/#findComment-1111097 Share on other sites

lurkinglurker
Could also be random bits of ice lying around.... Especially if you've set your catch-all storage to "All"; There's this pesky category called "Liquifiable" in there... Angpaur
I seem to have same problem with water appearing from nowhere. From time to time in same place some water is dropped on the floor. There is no ice to melt, no tanks are overflowing. I guess I just need to spend some time and observe that particular spot. psusi
Maybe a dupe carrying ice dropped it? Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/98129-water-leaking-from-nowhere/#findComment-1111160 Share on other sites
Angpaur
I usually don't mine any ice. I don't like the mass lost when mining. I don't store any ice so dupes cannot carry it. And it always happens in same place. Dupes would drop ice accidently in different places. Today I will try to solve this mystery and I will just stare at the damn spot Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/98129-water-leaking-from-nowhere/#findComment-1111163 Share on other sites
Nitroturtle
I've had the same thing this playthrough, random spot that ends up with water occasionally. There's nowhere for any to come from above, so I've just assumed it was dropped ice, but I'm not completely convinced. Usually I can identify the source with things like this, but this one has had me a bit stumped. Saturnus
After having read the previous comments I can definitely conclude that the water came from the boot wearing fairies you gotta believe in living the dupes' hair having a tiny wee each time their pacu fished minds remembers that they're wee boot wearing fairies, and misunderstand the concept of wee. The real question is: Does Fairy make dandruff shampoo for fantasy creatures? idlihx10
Are you sure you didn't dig next to a porous sandstone with water on the other side? These will leak too even if you don't dig them. Mariilyn
I wonder if soaking wet dupes can leave small puddles of water on the floor after having traveled across a waterlock. They do not, although they can reduce the mass if the puddle is small enough. Not entirely accurate, though it can seem this way sometimes. What happens is when a dupe exhales, they can displace or destroy a tile that has tiny amounts of liquid with the CO2 exhaled. This can sometimes break a waterlock if it's made with only a droplet. This will never happen if a dupe is in an exosuit, though flatulent dupes can still fart while in the suit. The only surefire way of making a waterlock is with a 2-deep hole filled with crude, then stack two separate liquids (water and petrol work best) on top. This will force the dupe to hop over the hole, never lingering inside the waterlock to exhale.
