My first ideas:

  • Friend of the forest (Won't be attacked by Snaptooth, Hanging Vines, ?Lureplants?, Elder Mandrakes -> Unlike Webber, he and Wilbur don't have any friends outside of their Game Mode; Treeguards are already friend with everyone and Webber can't befriend Spider Queens)
  • Only eats not meat based food (That one could make him pretty bad during Winter)
    • Farms around him grow bit faster & also during Winter? (Due to his life giving green gem; only if it's too hard to survive winter with him, maybe the player could manage to survive winter if he keeps all Berries & Carrots untouched & prepares enough farms for the next winter?)
  • Immune to poison, inflicts poison with every hit (Mobs attacking him could be poisoned aswell; Why would he need meat if he can't use it?)
    • He might be a weak character (100 Health) who also can't use health sources like 'Beacon & Eggs' so Poison could be necessary

i like farmin idea

The vegan idea is interesting but he would need some serious Benefits the balance it.

What about getting double wood from trees, double berries from bushes...

and so forth. Allowing him to get all nature based thing faster.

its a plant like how wx is a robot

But...plants, unlike robots, do come in male and female versions.

I spent WAY too much time looking into this, but basically here's the gist of it: Wormwood is an hermaphroditic plant.

Spoiler

Meaning its got both male and female bits in each flower

So...Klei's being inclusive(?)

Spoiler

Also...I'd just like to point out that wormwood's scientific name is Artemisia absinthium, otherwise known as absinthe. Y'know, that extremely alcoholic beverage?

Maybe Wormwood is nonbinary, preferring they/them?
Or genderfluid and accepting of all pronouns. Which makes sense in that plants have both "male" and "female" reproductive parts.

Fun Fact: Matilda's last name was Wormwood before being adopted by Miss Honey.

Non-binary is the exact opposite of intersex.

Intersex means you have both reproductive parts, while non-binary refers to not identifying as being exclusively male or female.

Honestly I think Wormwood's gender pronouns would definitely be "Tree".

Well, they might be biologically intersex but identify as nonbinary.
"Tree" sounds odd when using as a pronoun. But if tree likes it then tree should use the pronouns tree like.

It's quite popular to set it on fire. It doesn't really change the taste though, I'm sorry it's disappointing.
