Oni Noob
I want to breed Dense Puft because of its cool hairdo but I am not sure how do I increase my chances of getting one Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/96408-dense-puft/ Share on other sites
Bizzum22
tame a lone puff, then get a puff prince , put it in a oxygen room wait in till it lays another egg and it should be dense Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/96408-dense-puft/#findComment-1093650 Share on other sites

crypticorb
1 hour ago, Oni Noob said: I want to breed Dense Puft because of its cool hairdo but I am not sure how do I increase my chances of getting one Dense Puft eggs are laid by a normal Puft when contained in the same room as a Puft Prince. Without a puft prince present, a normal puft has 100% chance to lay a prince egg, and the opposite is true for a prince. With a prince present, a normal puft has a 50% chance to lay a dense puft egg, and a 50% chance to lay a squeaky puft egg. Oxygen/chlorine presence is irrelevant, temperature is irrelevant, food is irrelevant. When alone in a room, a wild puft will cycle between laying a prince egg, and the prince lays a normal puft egg, alternating with the two types until a second puft is present. 0xFADE
Dense pufts will happen eventually if you have even just a small group of normal pufts(and a prince) being ranched somewhere. tzionut
Bonus: If you have only dense puffs without a prince puffs all the dense puffs will lay prince puffs eggs, Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/96408-dense-puft/#findComment-1093684 Share on other sites
SakuraKoi
Just break all Puft and Squeaky Puft Eggs. Also, Stables are overrated (not quite sure if they are rated at all thou' but if they were they would certainly be since they have no effect). TOOK14
I'm curious, does anyone have an automated method for ensuring a puft room has exactly 1 puft prince? Currently I just use an incubator, but it gets tedious. If you can make a timer that goes off during the exact life cycle of the prince then you can automate an egg drop when they die I suggest a water clock Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/96408-dense-puft/#findComment-1112812 Share on other sites

TOOK14
Seems viable, but there is the problem of egg viability. I could see something like running the clock wire to the initial receptacle on a dedicated line, but there there's the problem of reset, which I guess is best done with a smart storage intermediary. Definitely viable, but possibly more bother than I'm willing to deal with. I run max game speed, but it's mainly just a strong desire to have full automation, at the very least to the point of not needing player input. I like being able to AFK and let my base run which I do other things in late game, especially with how long it can take to get the super late game stuff. It's true eggs will eventually crack if left in storage too long But your Pufts will lay enough to replace them when it happened You could set the storage cappacity to hold only one egg. While the rest are in another storage nearly in range of a sweeper. When the water clock reaches 75 cycles automate the one egg to be dropped in the stable But I do agree this seems more trouble than it's worth Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/96408-dense-puft/#findComment-1112818 Share on other sites
DaveSatx
I started ranching them because their metabolism goes up so they eat more and drop more eggs which is just plain useful. Ranching is a PITA but I try to treat it as a mini-game and push through. If you tame a puft, its info tab will show various egg chances. hover over each egg type to see what causes it. works for every critter i've tried it on too btw. when a prince and puft are together their chance of squeaky and dense goes up. you get them eventually and then cull the puft. i have a minor issue where the room they are in has very little to no pO2.. no biggy as as soon as 'he' dies the dense drop another egg. lol. Well no, their metabolism is the same. It's just that when they eat oxygen, they poop 95% of it back out as oxylite. I just pipe a small amount ( regulated with a valve ) of po2 into the room to feed the prince, and have one or two air filters to purify any excess into o2 for the dense.
