SamLogan
You can also make a food storage in the room that you want some flying creature and store their eggs. It's slower than the incubator but electricity-free. blash365
I'd suggest you go with one of the two strategies mentioned above. The creature lure isnt exactly a comfortable way to move aerial creatures anyway. The only advantage of it is that you can salvage it after usage and regain the plastic. Lures have various problems. Even if they worked right, they're just cumbersome. crypticorb
Lures only have a 15 tile effective radius. This limits their usefulness considerably, as the only way to move live flying critters is to build a lure, fill it, build a second lure, deconstruct the first lure, and bunny-hop each time deconstructing and rebuilding lures until you get them where you want. If you mess up the process anywhere, or let a lure run out of bait, you have to start all over again. Best method is to wait until the wild critter lays an egg, and move that. blash365
You can also slowly herd flying creatures with pneumatic doors. Critters can not pass pneumatic doors in automatic mode, which allows you to actively open the doors, then wait for the critters to pass the door and shut the door behind them (on auto mode). Eventually you will be able to herd the critters in the room of your preference. This is very cumbersome and i'd prefer waiting for an egg to drop and simply carrying it to a ratiobox any day. You can do this, but it is an extremely frustrating and time consuming process, not just in the time it takes to get the creature to move, but also the time it takes for a Dupe to toggle the door from Open to Automatic. I have also had the issue of the flyer moving into the Door at exactly the same time that the Dupe finally shows up to toggle the door. Repeatedly, for the next 20+ minutes. On the same door. Over and over again. *Destructive stress response* Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/90521-capturing-fly-creatures/#findComment-1032989 Share on other sites
0xFADE
I have a few shine bugs floating around the base and I set up a feeder for them. They seem to path to it when they are hungry even when they wander very far away. Miravlix
Gather eggs, wild critters lay one egg to replace them self, so it's easy to just use egg gathering to get critters. Incidentally that is also a HUGE warning to not gather eggs and make omelettes as it will kill off the critter population. Still more annoying than just carrying an egg, but more pleasant than the two other methods of moving flying critters (dupe controlled doors and lures). But then, herding pufts with lures is about as fun as walking on legos, except less badass.
