NanoD
So my dupes did some experiments on the slicksters and they did feed it 1 g/s CO2 for 5 cycles. So what did happen when the slickster got all the CO2 he wanted.... Well lets take a look Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/88720-revenge-of-the-slickster/ Share on other sites

Soulwind
You know, if we could get the slickster to do that on demand, and a way to drain the tunnel before it overflows, you'd have a living elevator for your dupes Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/88720-revenge-of-the-slickster/#findComment-1015691 Share on other sites

Soulwind
No, of course not. But it would be funny as all get out if they could ride a slickster up and down the tube. BlueLance
So, how and why the heck is this happening XD a single hatch fed 1g??? GO ON! NanoD
You can have 2 feeders that is feed by a conveyor. And get a hatch to produce like 20 tons of coal per cycle. BlueLance
I might have a theory about why it happens. I think it consumes 1g and thinks this is 1 meal. Whilst 100kg is needed to fill its stomach I think the pooping is based on meals rather than quantity of the meal. So lets say a hatch at full happiness is meant to eat 200kg and poop 100kg. If you fed it 100 x 2kg meals, it may poop 100 x 100kg coal since its stomach is now full and it ate 100 meals. Chances are the less you feed it per feeding the more it will give you in return. PhailRaptor
I'm not sure how well restricting food mass would work with Hatches. First off, you can really only do it with a Storage Compactor, which is a micromanagement pain. Second, the "chewing" animation that Hatches use takes quite a bit longer than the "inhale" animations of Pufts and Slicksters. BlueLance
Thats true, but i dont think the time is the reason, just the amount of meals it eats, I will try a test tonight to see if that might be the reason. If this is how it works then essentially you could essentially set the feeding station to only have a small amount delivered. The issue is you run the risk if you dont feed it enough per cycle that it will starve, especially if off screen Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/88720-revenge-of-the-slickster/#findComment-1015841 Share on other sites
QuQuasar
And if you feed a Shinebug 1g/s phosphorite for several cycles, it goes supernova and takes the entire asteroid with it. Honestly, Shinebugs don't serve a mechanical purpose. It's a Lore purpose to explain how Bristle Berries, which require Light to grow, can exist underground with no other source. Hellshound38
Just now, PhailRaptor said: Wouldn't the Critter Feeder bunch all the same type items together into a single pile? Would have to adjust the rate you create it to match the rate the critter eats it. Also possibly using more then 1 hatch Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/88720-revenge-of-the-slickster/#findComment-1016010 Share on other sites
