Character Personality Headcanons

Recommended Posts

Here's just a little thread for anyone who wants to post anything about whoever and how you think they act!

...

That was a bit confusing. Basically, here you can just post things about how you'd sum-up character's personalities, or say how they'd react in certain situations. This can be as detailed or as bare-bones as you like- it can be about one character or many! Who cares?! Have fun!

I like the idea of Wes as a brililant strategist who broke out of Alcatraz using only balloons... : P  But going back to what we actually know of the characters in canon rather than making stuff up at random for fun:

Wendy as a yandere?  Maybe...but I see her more as kind of a really proto-goth and/or emo.  She doesn't wear all black because that's not a thing, but her personality is really a lot like Wednesday Addams...and if you consider that the original newspaper cartoons of The Addams Family by Charles Addams were from the 19_30_'s, that's not that far off from Don't Starve's ("normal" world) timeline.  (Making Wednesday kinda the _actual_ proto-goth, since she was written IN The Old Days, not in something recent meant to take _place_ in The Old Days.)

Here is where I _would_ say "Wait a few years and the proper teenage angst will kick in" buuutt...if you go by the letters in the William Carter puzzles and say that Wendy and Abigail are indeed "the twins" mentioned there (something the game itself seems to back up with a lot of hintings), then Wendy (and Abigail?) are ALREADY teenagers.  The very youngest they could possibly be is 16.  And yes, I think Abigail was close to Wendy's age--her dying recently would explain both the intensity of Wendy's freakage over it and the fact that Abigail's ghost is the same size as her living sister.  If she died several years ago, it'd be the size of a little kid ghost.  (This is assuming that ghost sizes match up with living person sizes, of course--but in the abscence of evidence to the contrary, why not?)

Now, for the time period, Wendy's whole look--hair, clothing style, etc.--is way wrong for her age.  A 16 or 17-year-old girl in "around 1920" would be considered a young _lady_--by then, she'd be wearing her hair up and have longer, less frilly skirts to show that she's officially Put Away Childish Things and such. BUUUUTTT, you can't really use this as evidence for Wendy being a little kid after all because of a couple things:

1.  None of the female characters of _any_ age are drawn with boobs, because of the art style.  So you can't go by that.

2.  Most of them are insane in some way or another, so people likely wouldn't insist that they dress/wear their hair a certain way.  They'd be scared to go too close or insist!  It's like, "As long as you're not knifing me in my sleep or burning down my house, I don't _give_ a damn how you look!  You just...stay over there, crazy lady..."  Willow is also, of course, crazy, and also wears her hair in a _way_-too-young style.  Both her and Wendy may be wearing pigtails, shorter skirts and/or frills subconsciously as a way to cling to younger days when they were perhaps happier--and never stopped to think about it.  Wigfrid, of course, has braids for her Viking character...really, Wickerbottom is the only one who even remotely wears her hair correctly for her chronological age.  (Walani...well, she's from a different culture, and we also don't really know how old she is.)

So, yeah, because of the way she talks and acts, I think of Wendy as kind of a really proto-goth type--just darken and frill up the stuff she already wears, and she could _rock_ the Gothic Lolita look.  Instead, because of her time period, I think that if left in the "real world", in a couple years she'd probably chop all her hair off into a little bob, rather than put it Up to show that she is now a Lady.  Why?  Not so much that she actually wants to be a flapper--but because it'd piss off/freak out her family!  :)

(Okay, so, challenge for you artsies (who can draw faster than I can, anyway)--Wendy as a Gothic Lolita and/or a 1920's flapper look.  GO!  Heck, she could wear Abigail's flower as a decoration on the side of her cute little headband...)

Once she does actually fall in "love" with somebody...yeah, THEN she could definitely be a yandere.  Yandere-Chan's creepy, chiling speech at the beginning of Yandere Simulator...I could definitely hear that in Wendy's "voice".  But for now, that one element isn't there yet, so... (in CANON.  Fanfic is of course another matter.)

Hey, I was curious.

There's no official media that states that Abigail and Wendy are identical twins, right?

I mean, maybe they are a reference to the Shining or something, but technically, Abigail could look literally nothing like her, and still be her twin.

Could be even different gender, heh. Abigalen

Nah, she does say Abigail is her sister:

"This was my sister's flower... she's gone far away now."

Unless you were joking, in which case you can consider me pranked.

It's never actualy said, but I think it's very kind of symbolically hinted around.  They both wear flowers but on opposite sides, Abigail has exactly Wendy's eyes...and in her Guest of Honour picture (when you have that and the formal party frock both equipped) Wendy is looking sadly into:  a broken mirror.

A _broken_.  _Mirror_.

...yeah.

Although from the way it's all written, I just kind of got the _impression_ of identical twins long before I saw that.  I can't really pin down anything specific, but the unspoken...-ness is definitely there.

You don't need the frock and the head equipped to see the portrait, only the head. This goes for all the GoH, Survivor and Triumphant sets.

I'm sorry. I just had to correct you. The impulse... it- it's too strong!
