Klei just posted this.

The song and animation is awesome, but I'm personally glad these voices aren't canon. Willow is nice, but pretty much everyone thinks of Wilson as being British.

I think of Broadway legend Ramin Karimloo, most famous for playing in the Phantom of the Opera. ^^

Actually, I think Klei confirmed that Wilson is from New England. He'd probably have an accent from that area.

I don't suppose you have anything to support this? I've been wanting to find out just exactly which country he's from, and would be interested to know.

Klei emailed back to @Miss, so yeah.

Wait, they do? I always imagined German, not sure why.

jeffry combs wilson.pngI picture Wilson being voiced by Jeffry Combs due to the lovecraftian setting(that and I want to see him in more films:wilsondisappointed:).

Wilson isn't British, he's American, although from the east coast area.  _Maxwell_, however, is.  He'd only been living in America for a few years when all this went down; he definitely wouldn't have lost his accent by then.  (Considering that usually even after DECADES others can still hear a trace and wonder, "Gee, where is that person from?" unless they make a conscious effort to get rid of it on purpose.)

As for Wilson being German...I dunno...mad scientist with weird hair = German?  All I can think of right now is that one old Pewdiepie video I stumbled upon where he was playing Don't Starve for the first time--pre face-cam, low production values, not very good English yet--and he read Wilson's description "The Gentleman Scientist" who "can grow a magnificent beard" as:

"The...German scientist...grows a...magnifying...beard.  Okay let's get this started!"

And that's the only time I've ever heard anyone call him that--as a misreading by accident.  : P

...Notorious

Wilson isn't British, he's American

ORIGINAL E-MAIL TO THE USER MIRTE CAN BE FOUND HERE (written by Klei Jan) http://dontstarve-wilson.tumblr.com/post/72699367472/o-this-is-the-email-response-i-got-from-klei

This information DOES NOT state that Wilson is British/American, it tells us that he lived in New England before sh't hit the fan. His family's location is not mentioned either :wilson_cool:

True.

He's pretty open ended.

woah i wonder where i can message them, i have a few questions too...

I've got mixed feelings about video game characters being portrayed in movies or T.V series

I'd enjoy if Klei would make a cartoon series based on Don't Starve Together with the fellow survivors long as it's faithful to the game's lore or has a grim appeal to it.

Although I would prefer if Klei just made more cinematic videos of DST.

Does it really matter if Wilson is from England or not?

seeing klei explaining the ruins and the ancient civilization would be nice

I second this highly. More so than the origins of characters. Learning more about the dead civilization is something I'd love to learn more about.

Agreed, I would adore learning more about the ancient civilization AND the codex/shadow creatures. Most people just see what's on the outside, which is a hardcore survival game with neat little aspects. However, if you search further there's truly a whole cavern full of lore and eerie yet fascinating stories.

This I find to be really well made. A bit of a downer with the slow frame-rate and the fact that the camera changing mod(s) don't provide a background for the game, but other than that, the video's great. Really, Klei, give us a cartoon after you're done with it in terms of games, I'm sure people would love it. May be it'll become a hit on Cartoon Network if you put episodes there, who knows? Either way a series or a movie would be cool... preferably a cartoon series :p

Regardless, just wanted to share this with the forum, if it hasn't been already.

I don't think you or other people know exactly how much work it takes to animate... asking for something to be on Cartoon Network is extremely unrealistic with a small group of people working on DS/DST.

For example: it takes 9 months to create one episode of Adventure Time- and that's with a pretty big amount of people working on it.
