Special axe for sporecaps

Recommended Posts

So we all have seen how toadstool have been changed a lot during this updates. Now its not something for what you need 50 players and its fight its a little more interesting but there is still a problem:

Sporecap_build.png

This thing makes the fight something almost impossible,i have tried with making 40 bunnyslavesmen hutches to distract the toadstool for chopping them, burning them with torches or light staffs, everything but the toadstool is always at a level with too much defense and damage.

Even while you can just farm Goose, gears and goats for ages to make enough weather pains i had the next idea:

Basicly you can farm shroom skins with the use of bunnymen, gun powder etc and then mix it with an axe to make the perfect sporecap destroyer!

i don't know what its name could be,but maybe it could chop sporecaps faster than normal axes, with the excuse being something like the sporecaps reacting to the toadstool's skin acting hostilely at them so it goes away faster or something like that, also it should have half the durability of a normal axe but it could chop the sporecaps on 5 hits instead of 10

"But hey, this could be used by a big group instead of for singlerplayers which is the point of the tool"

Simple, make it detect other players in the area,if it is only the player using the tool, chops trees on 5 hits,if its 2 players, on 6 hits,3 players 8 hits 4 players it will work just like a normal axe.

This is the first post i ever make so sorry if i did something bad.

(also if you have any more suggestion for the tool feel free to tell,i made this idea mostly because of the horrible time i am having killing this boss, trying with both friends and with crazy stategies)

And while we're at it, let's add a magic flute that puts Dragonfly to sleep when she tries to spawn Larvae at 80% health, and pacifies her so that she may not move or retaliate, allowing you to whack her down from 22000 health with no consequences!

Oh wait....

(I've actually done this with STS, and also got it to work on the Deerclops surprisingly.)

yes i know of how powerful woodie is,actually the only times i got to kill it was with the help of woodie players but i just think that when alone there should be a way to chop those easily.

also this suggestion was more of a desesperate try to finally get that way to do be able to kill it faster without other 3 springs of farming.Anyways i posted this before i started farming the Goose feathers for the weather pain and i dint knew they droped so many of them 0_0.

I have been like 200 days in game trying to kill it to then move on the stuff like the new chess bosses or the moon event.Myself i don't have problems with farming for hours (i have 1600 hours on this game so you can guess how much i like a thing to keep you busy when playing)

But i would like to be able to finish everything before the next update comes in case something needs a new world to find it.

The way is to play Woodie Nah, but I think that stockpiling weather pain/just getting an axe and unleashing your horde of bunnies while chopping the trees should work for the sporecaps.

Also if you want to finish everything you chose the wrong order to do it if you wanna do it quickly lol. Moon Event first(Not gonna spoil how to deal with it though, for your pleasure), shadow pieces(tough but not that time consuming i think), and then Toad.

It shouldn't take 3 springs for farming.

1) Build a bunnyman village and farm for meat and carrot.

2) Wait for the depths worm attack for loads of monster meat.

3) Kill spiders.

4) Collect red gem to make fire staff.

While weather pain works, it is not a easy task to put it into mass production. It is ok when you fight as a group and can kill toad quickly. However if you wana do toad sololy you gona need many weather pain. For now I am just using fire staff and torch.

@Wexton are you for real? Whilst getting more useful drops/crafting recipes from toadstool/toadstool loot would be great (an idea someone I know had, was a piece of armour that you can craft that spoils slowly instead of having durability), the axe thing... This is pretty balanced for one player, you know; having to prepare a stronger and harder to obtain weapon (or 3 of them) when fighting the toadstool alone balances it out because it means it's asking for you to get help from friends or get a bunch of rare and harder to obtain weapons to fight the thing alone. With your suggestion in, the balance would be disrupted and players might as well fight it alone, as it would be hella easy.

And Weather pains don't require you 3 spring to get like 5 or even more of them if you're lucky: each spring 5 Gmooses spawn in the world and soon after they lay eggs ine after another. All you need is to go find the places they have spawned in and just kill them one by one and then the mosslings. If you're Wigfrid, WX or Wolfgang this should be very easy, especially if someone's out to help you.

Weather pain pretty much is an emergency weapon during hound attacks or something  and an effective weapon during toadstool battles. Having the axe in will make it even less useful than it already is right now, considering you can't refuel the darn thing and it only has 15 uses for something that requires 2 rare resources and a stack of a boss item.

I did try using fire staffs and torches a bunch of times already, but for when the trees finally burnt toadstool is already spawning more of them

thats why i was trying to do toadstool, while i was on it i also farmed bunnymen tails to make houses to easily do the moon event and killing the shadow chess pieces(while i was testing them i saw that bunnymen could attack them so i decided to use that strategy)

this is actually the thing that i am going to be focusing on my world while i farm the weather pains.

Bunnies actually aren't needed or even that great for the moon event. It's a slightly more clever way that works the best. (Hint: Hostile mobs love to aggro it)

That is actually the only moment when you can deal huge amount of damage at once without having to worry about retaliation. I use that time to hit toad as many time as I can. Then when he is done summoning I will back off a little and start burning the newly summoned trees. Once all tree is set on fire I may try and land afew hits on toad. However the most important thing here is to make sure you draw him away from the burning tree as far as you can. That way when the tree burn out and fall down, the spore cloud won't happen to block you from hitting toad.

Maybe make it chop them on 7 hits ONLY if there is one single players so it is exclusively to insane solo players that don't have friends or that they are busy(like me)or make its durability be less.

yeah,my idea is making around 10 to 15 bunny hutches and wall the thing.

So well,i guess that the idea of some kind of sporeaxe or something like that would't be that good. But do you guys know more ways to chop the spore caps easily?I know about clic spaming to chop fast, fire, weather pains and woodies but some ideas would be welcome.

There already exists an item like that. It's called...

Well, it's actually 8 hits, but ehh, close enough >_>

I actually didn't have any idea that those things chop faster than normal axes......

And entire new world of possibilities opened in front of my eyes, now apart of tons of weather pains i'll get tons of pick axes, now i undestand why people didn't like the idea about the sporeaxe apart from the fact that 5 hits may be a bit too overpowered, even for being alone. :)
