Wave after Wave

Otto was biting and punching Gyx (albeit not hard) to stop him from his sticky massacre. Then tendrils wrapped around him and Otto and squeezed. Otto began wriggling about and just managed to escape Wiffleball's grip. He jumped down and watched the scene unravel. This was bad. Even if Otto got possessed, he wouldn't do this. Wiffleball showed no signs of backing out.

"Hey rabbit... dude!" Otto didn't know his name (as usual) "There's a time and place for straggling crew members and this isn't it! You gotta stop! I'm sure he was just play fighting!"

Kate was caught off guard by Noctimus being thrown into her chest, but managed to catch him in her arms before he could fall. She looked him over with concern, trying to see if he was hurt, then glared fiercely at Gyx. Flames that reflected her anger sprouted from her upper arms and shoulders. Then anger turned to fear.

The shadow tendrils returned. They hit and tangled around Gyx almost before she could process it, and she paled. Her arms wrapped protectively around Noctimus and she backed up a few steps, whimpering slightly. Kade dropped the blanket of berries and quickly put himself between Kate and Wiffleball in case anything went wrong.

What's this? It seems Syndir has found the swallowed-but-now-regurgitated coffee bean while playing around with the pile of disgusting, smelly fish! Huzzah! Now he can use it for a nose or an eye or something on the fish-man, or try to plant it again. I don't know. You just do you, Syndir.

Syndir took a deep breath. The last bean had been found. It was a glorious moment to be celebrated, but alas a rift had been torn in a friendship and it had to be mended. He knew what he had to do...

FISH COFFEE

He presented his masterpiece to dragon, slowly scooting it closer with his staff, and bringing his head to the deck floor as a sign of apologies.

Noctimus' tummy was pretty bruised. It could of been worse than that, but an injury of any sort was unavoidable, as getting lobbed like a baseball while you're that small is bound to result in injury. He whimpered in confusion and pain, as he had absolutely no idea what was going on.

---

So did Trevor. As in, the no idea thing. He didn't have a tummy bruise.

"Whaaaat's going on..."

Malii saw that little grumpy wumpy  Meri was getting all upset over other people having some fun. She decided that she would help her crewmates by trying to make little grumpy wumpy Meri not so grumpy wumpy anymore.

"...hey meri? can i ask you a question?"

Wiffleball looked over at Otto, then back at Gyx. The burst of rage that had fueled his outburst had passed, but he still had the Deep One firmly in his grasp. It was...satisfying, in an odd sense, to now have power over the very same person who'd almost killed him before. He could do whatever he pleased with him, just like a plaything. His plaything. Idly, he began wondering how hard he'd have to squeeze to completely crush his body. It wouldn't be too hard, right? And it wasn't like anyone would miss him, after all...

He shook his head. Dear god, what was he even thinking? He dropped Gyx to the ground, then almost immediately backed off, more afraid of himself than anything else.

Kate flinched a little as the tendrils moved, and Kade readied himself in case Wiffle suddenly turned on them.

Dragon lifts her head up and sniffs the food? Yeah, probably food, that was pushed in front of her. It seemed to be a fish dunked in another cup of that black stuff from before. She blows on the cup and knocks it over again grips the sticking-out tail of the fish andstirs the black liquid with it briefly before slurping it it up and just downing the cup whole. It was... surprisingly okay! Definitely not the worst thing she's had. That would be Syndir's head. Blech, when's the last time he washed that thing!

Then Dragon noticed the silly humans person had his face to the wooden floaty thing. She wondered what he was looking at so closely, and so put her head to the wood too.

Syndir wasn't sure if his offering had been accepted or not. He was hearing sounds, but he couldn't see anything. He didn't move though. He didn't dare leave his position early so he stayed in place.

Gyx stood up, gasping as the toy rabbit had almost killed him. Suddenly, he remembered the seals he made. He reached into his bag, and pulled out the black seal. "Ghlrght, bghny. Ygh ght gh tghm ght!" He slapped the seal on Wiffleball. The small rabbit toy could no longer move, or think. For the time, it was little more than the stuffed doll he was.

(WHY WIFFLE WHY)

Wallan hopes Silven isn't... well... dying... and waits for the boat to reach the island.

Suddenly, Wallan and Silven start hearing some sort of howling.

Jaw lifts his head and WAHs. He goes to Famen and tugs his shirt.

"WE MUST GO! HELP THE TWO ON SMALL BOAT!"

Before Kade could stop her, Kate shoved herself between Gyx and Wiffleball, her flames spreading higher. "STOP IT! GET AWAY FROM HIM!" She hit Gyx with an open palm before grabbing the limp plush and sprinting away as fast as she could with both companions in her arms. Kade snatched up the blanket and the berries that were left inside and followed after her. She wouldn't let the fish man hurt Wiffleball again; no matter what.

Dragon still couldn't see anything special about the wood, but the silly humans was still pressing his face to it. Maybe if she moved around to different spots she'd find what he was looking at! She the proceeded to drag her head across the deck in random directions.
