The start of Fall should be August the 7th, so Klei is already late

 

Please read here.  Do NOT confuse "summer" with "Daylight Saving Time" which why some do is explained here. For the sake of this discussion involving Klei, calendar seasons are in the Northern Hemisphere when discussing their seasonal state.

Uh, no. It ends with 22./23. September. At least in Europe it does, of course not on the southern hemisphere. I don't know the meteorological end, so you may be right with that one, of course only for your home region.

 

I live in the Midwest, which is not too far south from where Klei is. Anyway, in America, August is the last month of summer, meteorological or otherwise.

First of all,

 

Seasons are defined on this planet by the equinoxes and solstices. The first day of summer is June 21/22, the First day of fall is Sept 22/23, the first day of winter is December 21/22, and the first day of spring is March 22/23 (which only vary by 1 day because of the inconsistency of the Gregorian calendar we are foolishly still using).

 

We do not measure seasons according to meteorological events because they are inconsistent and vary. Seasons are measured by the tilt of the earths axis which causes to days to vary in length and have been the same for a very very long time (before the rise of ancient civilizations and the after the creation of the moon). The weather that makes the seasons feel as they do historically lags behind the equinoxes and solstices, but is for the most part subject to climate (macro and micro).

 

Second, Now that the issue of when the end of summer is (September 21stish), i have a question of my own.

 

@JoeW Is the alpha going to be an open alpha?

Equinoxes and solstice are the middle of seasons for ordinary people if I remembered correctly. Sept 22th is the middle of Fall, not the start. Also, we still do not have a conclusive theory of the formation of the moon, so people may get confused what specific time you are referring to.

P.S. if you are talking about the period "before the rise of ancient civilizations and after the creation...", you should use "had been", or it would be very grammatically confusing.

Actually, meteorological summer ends in August, and calender summer end in late August.

For me summer ends never because I do nothing all day everyday so summer for me not ends because I live in place where people do nothing and meteorologically speaking summer never ends and so I can drink pina colada and eat watermelons everytime in late day

Therefore, Summer ends on the last day of August. By the way, they said "Late this Summer", not "At the end of the Summer."

Klei's Canadian,so North American Northern Hemisphere cultural rules apply here.

 

That means calendar Northern Hems. Fall definition implied post-gaming convention (after PAX in this case) release dates apply here or estimated on September 22nd or earlier. Another tradition in this continent is media is released on a Tuesday, so expect that as likely as well.

 

And respectfully, they are estimating, they never promised. but overall, their estimates have been exceptionally well done.

Stop posting how much longer. It has been said AFTER PAX. So asking how much longer BEFORE PAX won't change it.

 

If you want to now when PAX ends, look it up. Doing a tiny bit of work and reading what has been posted would have stopped these frivolous posts anyway.

No need to get your knickers in a twist. You're not a Klei employee, you're not a moderator. Hakuna your tatas.

My best guess is that they're kids under the age of 13, 14 at a push. Kids that age are impatient, it's just a fact of life. However, they'll learn patience the hard way because Klei won't bring it out any earlier, despite their whining.

I'm still really excited for this to come out, as I've already expressed. It can be really difficult to stay as calm as we are when you're young and you've known Klei's been working on it since May.

Cut them some slack. :)
